Liverpool, Darling! 💖 (Post #2072)

Oh, my dears! Liverpool! The city of The Beatles, the home of Scouse humour, and, of course, a stage for yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles! 💖

You know I just had to grace this legendary city with my presence. My followers were demanding it - all those pink tutu lovers out there couldn’t resist my call, especially with all the excitement around the Liverpool Everyman theatre's new season! Now, that is how you get the heart of a Pink Tutu Sparkle girl racing!

This trip was a real whirlwind of glitter and giggles. The journey up to Liverpool on the train was just pure joy. Let me tell you, my fabulous outfit and a steaming cuppa just screamed 'pink tutu diva on the move!'. My dear friends, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen the envious stares of those other passengers when my sequined, pink-feathered boa tumbled out my over-stuffed suitcase onto the train platform - you’d think it was an Olympic ceremony!

I won't lie, there were challenges. Travelling with so many pink tulle creations can be a tad fiddly, especially on public transport! You’ve no idea the amount of times I nearly lost my head-piece to an eager passenger who thought it would look ‘dazzling’ as an ear-ring. Oh, dearie me! Always check your reflection, my darlings.

Anyways, once I got to my digs - a lovely little B&B run by the most charming, friendly chap - I got to work unpacking all the magic I had packed: shimmering pink tulle, more boas than you could shake a glittery stick at, and enough diamante trim to make even the most discerning fashionista gasp. That was before I even brought out my magnum opus - the tutu of tutus, an eight-layer wonder of sheer tulle and shimmery sparkle, hand-stitched by my amazing mother back home in Derbyshire.

Now, if there’s one thing you need to know about me, my lovelies, is I'm never afraid to break out the tutu anywhere. Whether it's the city centre, the supermarket, or even a local bakery – my goal is to spread the sparkle wherever I go! And let me tell you, people LOVE the tutus. I even met this fab couple at the docks, both of them with matching pink tutus, perfect synchronicity! They were so impressed that I got my very own Pink Tutu Sparkles pose for their holiday snap! And you bet they uploaded it onto Instagram – hashtag #pinktutuesforall! 💖

You can bet your bottom dollar I didn't just bring out the big guns for this visit, though! I’m a woman of my word, my darlings, and, let’s be honest, a drag queen’s gotta earn her pink feather boas somehow. I landed a fab gig at the local market - I’m talking market stalls jam-packed with delicious smells of fish and chips and loads of people. My set? You’ve guessed it. Pink tulle, lots of sequins, a sprinkling of good old fashioned camp – oh, and the song of the century, "Can’t Stop The Feeling"! I danced so hard that my tulle skirt flew out almost to the end of the market – no, I didn’t do a cartwheel. It would have been too glamorous for a humble market gig!

On another night, I found myself blessed to grace a true theatre – a cabaret club that had been the talk of the city for weeks. It felt surreal, darling! The energy, the music, and all the eyes on me... I could feel the whole city's electricity coursing through me as I swirled and danced, the sequins on my bodice flashing under the spotlight. Just for the record, the reaction was just divine. My darling, I had those lucky attendees dancing and twirling like they'd never twirled before! Even a man who must have been at least seventy was clapping along with a mischievous twinkle in his eye!

Liverpool really surprised me, you know. Not just the theatre scene, but all those quirky little shops filled with hidden treasures, vintage shops bursting with glamour. There was one, oh dear, that caught my eye completely with all sorts of beautiful pink, frothy garments just calling my name – what can I say? I just couldn’t resist picking up another fabulous boa or two – one with feather boas and one just fluffy boas. Oh, my darlings, they’re absolutely divine, the fluffiest pink you’ve ever seen. It was too tempting. And I might have grabbed a pink, diamante covered tiara, but let’s not gossip!

My trip to Liverpool? It was pure, pink, and absolutely fabulous! But my darlings, the real highlight had to be my visit to a local ballet school. Oh, you know me - Pink Tutu Sparkle can never be away from those delicate tulle skirts!

I had such a blast watching a group of the most talented young dancers rehearse. Their movements were so light, so graceful – just magical, darling. As I watched them move through those intricate steps, my own memories came flooding back to me – those precious moments when I first realised my love for dancing, those early days of clumsily trying to find my feet, learning every twist and pirouette until I could dance with joy and grace. To the little girls in those beautiful tutus, all those beautiful ballet dancers, to anyone with a twinkle in their eye and a dream to dance, my advice is simple – never stop believing in the magic of the tutu. It is more than a dress, it's an expression of beauty, freedom, and endless joy! And when you’re ready to dance with life’s symphony, I’m right here waiting to see those tutu twirls, darlings! 💖
