I have a bit of a confession, you see - I’ve got this newfound love for trains. I mean, honestly, is there anything more stylish than arriving at your destination in a gleaming carriage? Especially when it’s an excuse to don a new outfit! Today’s ensemble was an absolute riot of pink, of course. Think cherry blossom chiffon draped over a vibrant fuchsia lace top, all held together by a silver diamante belt, the finishing touch being a perfectly ruffled pink tutu - a true vision in pink, if I do say so myself!
Speaking of Colchester, it's just a hop and a skip from my Derbyshire roots. A quick train ride later and bam! I’m ready to sparkle, with a bit of cheeky sparkle.
Colchester, what a darling little town! As I hopped off the train, the vibrant energy hit me like a pink-hued glitter bomb. From the beautiful cobbled streets lined with cute cafes, the quaint little shops, the majestic castle (yes, I’m already picturing it on a grand entrance!) , the buzzing town square… well, let's just say, I was living my best Pink Tutu life.
The main reason for my Colchester journey, darlings, is to perform! I've been invited to perform a special act at The Crown Theatre. Can you even imagine the thrill? The crowds, the lights, the roar of the applause – a drag queen's dream come true! This isn’t my first rodeo. From performing on a tiny stage at the village pub to thrilling the crowds at county fairs, this pink tutu's seen a lot of exciting adventures. But I have to tell you, a beautiful theatre with all the theatrical magic... well, that's a real fairy tale in the making!
Of course, the fabulousness of Colchester wouldn't be complete without a trip to a local ballet studio! You see, being a ballerina by day and a pink tutu-wearing queen by night, this girl just can’t help but feel inspired by graceful movement and stunning choreography. As soon as I saw a little ballet school in a picturesque part of town, I had to pop in. I even brought a couple of Pink Tutu-themed banners with me! (It’s never too early to introduce the world to the power of the pink tutu!).
Speaking of the pink tutu, oh darling! You know how I feel about pink. It’s more than a colour, it’s a feeling! I see the world in hues of rose, lavender and pink champagne, so I've brought some Pink Tutu merch. You’ve got to hear about the gorgeous dress I picked up in Colchester! It’s like a ballet dream in fabric, darling! Imagine a dazzling silk dress, a soft champagne pink with thousands of shimmering silver sequins sewn on. The cut of it is oh-so-dramatic, it whispers of twirling on stage with the stage lights bathing me in a dreamy, rose-coloured light… Now I’m just picturing myself making a dramatic entrance. Ooh! A quick photo-shoot opportunity…
You know how much I adore horse-riding too. So, after my dress shopping extravaganza, I took a scenic carriage ride in Colchester. You know I'm a big fan of animal transport! The trot through the streets, the crisp autumn air, and the gorgeous horse… It was absolute bliss.
Oh, the stories I could tell about this lovely town. From a stunning, historic museum with a pink tea party for the Pink Tutu followers ( yes, pink cupcakes and sparkling rose were served!), to the delicious pink meringue dessert I enjoyed at a quaint little cafe… I tell you, darling, my inner Pink Tutu couldn’t be happier.
Time for a little self-indulgent beauty treatment, as I’ve been busy travelling all day. Colchester certainly didn't disappoint. A pink bubble bath awaits in my lovely little hotel room with a complimentary champagne glass full of, you guessed it, a pink fizzy concoction!
So darlings, another pink-tastic day in the bag! And just as the last hues of sunset were painting the sky a delicious blush of pink, I felt a thrill in the air… Oh, darling, the sound of the theatre's orchestra getting ready for my performance!
