Gateshead Calling: Post #2107

Ooh, darling, it’s Friday night! This pink-tutu-loving queen is about to be gracefully launched on a whirlwind journey from Derbyshire to the glorious city of Gateshead, a journey of adventure and sparkles! This week’s excitement is all about my upcoming performance in Gateshead, a town so full of character and charming architecture I practically can’t contain myself. Get ready for some glittery, glamorous goodness as Pink Tutu Sparkles brings the shimmer to the stage!

It’s all about the tutu!

First things first, it’s time for a fabulous confession - I love everything about this performance: the tutus, the sparkly sequins, the makeup! But it's the tutu, oh, the tutu! This one, darling, is pink, a shade that matches my soul, and it has the most wonderful layers of fluffy tulle, each layer cascading with iridescent sparkle.

As you can imagine, picking out the perfect tutu takes some planning! You'd be surprised how many different ways you can wear a tutu, from dramatic to chic to downright whimsical. A queen's got to look good, you see!

The Big City and a Big Trip:

Travelling is another one of my absolute favourites, and there's something so liberating about taking to the rails, especially when the journey involves going up north! There's nothing more exhilarating than a train trip, my darling. I've already booked a seat with a comfy view of the scenery – you see, Pink Tutu Sparkles always chooses comfort over speed! (Well, unless we're talking sequins, because who can resist a dazzling costume change in a packed train carriage!)

As always, my trip wouldn't be complete without some ballet inspiration! I’m always a little excited to be venturing near a new ballet studio, especially when it’s Gateshead with it's fantastic Sage Music Centre - you just can’t beat those dance steps! Ballet is a key ingredient to a well-rounded Pink Tutu Sparkles – don't be surprised if you spot a few pirouettes in the town centre. Just me being me, love.

Why I Wear Pink (and It's More Than Just a Shade!):

Darling, this might come as a surprise but even though I live my best life in the pinkest pink, deep down I’m a scientist by day! You wouldn’t believe this, but I spend my days surrounded by flasks and lab coats. My secret superpower? Analysing fabrics. Who would've guessed?

Yes, it’s all about science, and there's so much artistry in it. For example, you’ve got this material called Spandex, which you know is super stretchy, making for the most perfect tutus. Talk about a science experiment gone glam! The truth is, there’s science behind every element of my glamorous life – it's all about how fabrics react to the light, the movement of the colours...

See? That's why my life’s mission is to encourage everybody to get their inner tutu out and about.

It’s about fun, confidence and expressing your fabulous inner-self – whatever colour or shade makes you feel good! Pink just happens to make me feel fabulous, like I can leap across a stage or maybe even spin for hours without ever tiring out.

My Drag Inspiration

This little Derbyshire girl wasn't always living her best sparkly life. There was this little, quiet, science-loving girl who suddenly fell in love with a tutu during a charity fundraising event back when I was still studying.

From the first twirl, darling, everything changed. Suddenly I had this feeling of liberation, an excitement to move, to be more colourful, and to have fun with makeup. Now, I can't imagine myself as anyone else!

Get Your Glitter On:

Alright darling, you've seen me shimmy, you've seen me twirl. Pink Tutu Sparkles is off to Gateshead, ready to perform, and share my love for life in my fab pink tutu. I'm excited for all the beautiful sights and experiences, all the fabulous local talent and to show everyone that the ultimate accessory for joy and self-expression, is a fabulous, frilly, oh so beautiful PINK TUTU!

See you on the dance floor!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles
