Hello darlings! Your favourite pink tutu wearing queen is back with another post! Today we're in the big apple, the city that never sleeps, New York City! It's truly magical, and even though Iām wearing enough sparkle to light up Times Square, this city has really stolen my breath away.
Now, you all know Iām a gal who loves to travel. I mean, whatās better than exploring new places, meeting new people and spreading a little bit of pink tutu magic wherever I go? And, as you all know, I much prefer to travel by train or, even better, by horse. A grand carriage ride is definitely my thing! Of course, being a busy drag artist, I've had to adjust my travel plans slightly this trip. To get here, I found a little van, filled it with enough sparkly goodness to start my own pink tutu shop, and drove the whole way! Now, Iām a queen who knows how to have a good time, and I wouldn't trade my comfy seats for anything in the world. Especially not the view! And speaking of comfy seats, I did get a rather unfortunate sunburn on my derriĆØre, even with the little fluffy seat cushion I always keep handy in my bag. Letās just say the āPink Tutuā name wasn't so pink that dayā¦ Luckily I was able to pop in a couple of chemist shops and found some sun lotion. What an adventure!
Oh, before we get on with all my adventures, let me tell you a little secret: you might have been wondering how this little pink tutu queen even gets to go on all these adventures. Well, darling, it's all thanks to the power of drag! You see, I fund my travels by performing all across the land, spreading joy, glitter, and of course, the magic of pink tutus. A queenās got to hustle! From the tiniest village fairs to grand stage performances, I perform anywhere they'll have me! My act is always a crowd-pleaser, especially since my āscientific expertiseā includes making potions that will transform anyone into a sparkling pink tutu beauty!
It all started when I was a fresh-faced university student in Derbyshire. Imagine it: a simple lad in the heart of England, studyingā¦ science! Can you believe it? I was so shy back then, a proper mousy little fellow. And, just to show how different life can be, I was actually a science major! A budding lab scientist, testing fabrics and their textures, studying molecules. A very un-pink world, wouldn't you say? I had to secretly dabble in all the sparkles on the side! I never would have imagined a pink tutu would be my destiny. But itās a story for another day.
Itās amazing to see what a little pink tutu can do for you! A queen knows it can be intimidating to let go and have a bit of fun, to show off who you really are inside. But you know what? Iāve discovered itās better to own that pink tutu spirit! It wasnāt easy. Youāll be shocked to hear it, but when I first started, some people gave me funny looks. It was the uni's annual charity fundraiser and, as we all know, one must donate, darling. We'd decided to raise money for a childrenās hospital, and I bravely decided to wear a pink tutu for an afternoon. Honestly, the experience completely changed me. Itās truly amazing how a pink tutu can make you feel empowered and free, how it can make you shine! I always feel unstoppable and invincible, ready to take on the world. I had so much fun that day; and from that moment, I knew that my calling in life was to get everyone to experience the magic of a pink tutu. So I ditched my scientific ambitions for something a little less boring ā performing on stage, singing and dancing in all my glory! Honestly, who wouldn't love that?! And that's how I became Pink Tutu Sparkles, darling!
Now, my travels bring me to this glorious metropolis, full of lights, excitement, and endless possibilities. New York City, with its bustling streets and dazzling neon signs, feels like my own personal wonderland. This is a place where dreams are made and stars are born, where anyone can be anything they want to be. Of course, this city is very dear to my heart as I simply love ballet, both on and off the stage. I try to get to a performance every night; ballet class is a daily habit.
Evenings here are particularly busy! It all begins with a spot of dinner and shopping with my dear friends! Whatās a visit to the city without an exciting shopping trip? The shops are so full of sparkling delights, just bursting with bright colours and pretty details that scream my name. So far, I've picked up a little sequined number, just the perfect shade of pink! After dinner, the ballet takes over. Nothing like a bit of Tchaikovsky and grand tutus, with brilliant dancing to take your breath away! It just reminds me why I do this! And let me tell you, New York is truly where dreams come true! The dancers, they take my breath away every time with their exquisite moves and expressions! They glide across the stage like feathered angels and are oh, so captivating to watch. Thereās a reason why people from across the globe come here to experience these dazzling shows.
Speaking of dazzling, my New York outfits are an absolute spectacle, darling! I have an entire suitcase full of glamorous looks! The best bit about travelling is the new fashions and colours you can experience in different locations. Just seeing people here makes me so inspired, especially all those stunning, chic women in their little black dresses, all high heels and sharp outfits. Thatās what makes my heart beat faster. Iāve definitely already gotten a new look or two in mind ā with a hint of that New York sparkle of course! It's just perfect, darling. This whole pink tutu trip is truly magical and New York is truly magical. Youāve just got to wear a pink tutu to fully understand it, though.
