Oh darlings, it's me, your favourite pink tutu-clad fairy godmother, Pink Tutu Sparkles! Buckle up your sequins and grab a glass of something fizzy, because this is going to be a whirlwind of a blog post!
You know I love a good train journey, and this week, my darling dears, I took a thrilling, heart-pounding trip all the way to London town! Now, you know I adore my big, beautiful Derbyshire, but sometimes, a gal needs to venture outside her comfort zone, just for a little bit of "oo la la" you know what I mean?
So, there I was, chugging along in my vintage carriage, my tulle cascading around me like a pink cloud, admiring the green fields whizzing by. Of course, I made sure my handbag was fully stocked with my favourite pink sparkly face mask, lip gloss, and of course, the most fabulous feather boa a girl could ask for!
After a few hours, my train pulled into the bustling heart of Brixton, and let me tell you, this was a sight to behold! The energy was electrifying, and everywhere I looked there were colours, sounds, and people everywhere!
This trip was all about the glorious Brixton Underground Festival. Can you believe, darling, I had never been before?! Such a faux pas! Honestly, I'm so relieved I made the trip because the sheer abundance of amazing music, colourful displays, and of course, fellow drag queens was absolutely breathtaking. I saw some fierce looks, darlings! Just amazing! I spotted a few aspiring Pink Tutu Sparkles lookalikes in their own delightful pink tutus, strutting their stuff with the utmost confidence! Honestly, it warmed this tutu-loving heart. 🥰
Now, no journey is complete without a bit of "ooh, that's fab" fashion, darling. And, naturally, Brixton delivered. I just had to pick up a few "essentials." First stop, the vintage shop just down from the station - a pink paradise, honey! There, I snagged the most adorable, teeny tiny, sequinned bag, and the perfect floral patterned fascinator to wear for my upcoming show in Derby. Don't worry, dearies, I'll share photos on my next post, just you wait!
Speaking of my show, you just can't visit Brixton without indulging in a delicious and slightly rebellious bite. So, darling, guess where I went? Why, the Brixton Market, of course! This is where London's trendy young people, and their pets (yes, you heard that right! Lots of fur babies about! 🐶 🐱) go to indulge in the freshest and most delectable, authentic food imaginable! Imagine a perfect pink cupcake, dipped in the finest artisan gelato, and finished off with a rainbow sprinkle of my favourite sweets! It was like an explosion of colour and joy on my tongue.
So, after a full day of fabulousness, I caught the train home, a little bit more glittery and a little bit more tired, but oh so much more inspired! Now, let's talk about my evening attire!
Oh, darling, you know me, always going full Pink Tutu Sparkles. I found a truly glorious vintage, rose-gold beaded top, a vintage broach, and, of course, the star of the show - my stunning pink tulle skirt! (I wouldn't wear it on a stage without it, honey! 😂). For my headpiece, I chose a bright pink rose made entirely of feathers, and let me tell you, this ensemble was fit for a princess! And I certainly felt like one as I sashayed my way down the street, feeling absolutely magical and full of joy.
Let's get a little real, my lovelies. My aim in life is to make the world a more dazzling place, and what better way to do it than with pink tutus? This beautiful life can feel a little grey, a little ordinary at times, but don't you ever forget, darling, there is magic to be found everywhere, if you only look for it! And believe me, darling, with a bit of pink sparkle and the right tutu, life can be as colourful as a rainbow, as free as a bird, as daring as a pirate ship. Just try it and let your inner pink sparkle shine. It might surprise you, it might just change you, and it might just change the world around you.
