Hampstead, Sweet Hampstead!

Pink Tutu Sparkles Presents: Blog Post #2208

Hello my darling dears, and welcome back to my little corner of the internet! It's your favourite pink tutu wearing drag queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today I'm whisking you away to the charming, tree-lined streets of Hampstead! Oh, Hampstead! Just saying the name brings a little spring to my step. And this week, darling, I was all about bringing a little spring to my step literally, with my gorgeous new tutu collection, featuring the prettiest pastel pinks imaginable! I'll post pics on my Instagram later, but trust me, they are divine.

But, where were we? Ah yes, Hampstead. This quaint little haven of sophistication just feels like it was made for a girl like me. I mean, with all the gorgeous cafes, cosy book shops and of course, those lovely Georgian townhouses… oh, it was just screaming to be seen in a tutu, darling.

Now, you might be thinking, "Pink Tutu, Hampstead… what could possibly connect those two?". Well, darlings, let me tell you. This wasn't just any old trip to Hampstead, no, no, no, it was a pilgrimage! The Royal Ballet was gracing the stage at the beautiful Hampstead Theatre and you know how I feel about the ballet - absolutely besotted! It's like, my ultimate happy place. Watching the graceful dancers glide across the stage in their perfectly sculpted tutus… divine! It just makes my heart sing, my dears.

But my love for the ballet didn’t end with the performance! Oh no, I just had to pop by the Hampstead Dance Studio after. It was a bit of a spur of the moment thing, but darling, I knew I just had to see if they had any tutu classes. Luckily, they did, and my dance shoes couldn't wait to twirl! (Now, they may have looked like the ballerina's, but they were actually quite comfortable! A good quality pointe shoe is key to any proper TutuQueen!)

Of course, no visit to Hampstead would be complete without a good old-fashioned afternoon tea. Now, I don't know about you darlings, but I love an excuse to wear my most fabulous pink fascinator and sip some delicately brewed Earl Grey tea. Luckily, Hampstead provided the perfect spot - The Betsy, with its quaint charm and heavenly scones. We're talking strawberry jam that melts in your mouth and clotted cream that makes you say 'ooh la la!' Honestly, you’d need to get yourself down there just for the tea, let alone everything else.

The weekend wasn't all about the ballet and scones, though. I made sure to wander the streets of Hampstead, soaking up the atmosphere. And trust me, darlings, the people-watching alone is worth the trip. I'm not just talking about those Hampstead doyennes, bless them, although they did bring a little extra “wow factor”, it was more the feeling, you know? The little shops selling everything from handmade pottery to rare books… darling, it felt like I stepped into a Jane Austen novel. A really fabulous Jane Austen novel, of course, where everyone is wearing pink tutus!

But my time in Hampstead wasn't just about exploring the area, it was also about spreading the Pink Tutu message! As always, I made sure to strut my stuff with my magnificent pink tutu on display, inspiring a few other brave souls to embrace their inner tutu-loving queen. Let’s face it, darlings, wearing a pink tutu is about more than just looking fabulous (though let's be honest, you'll always look incredible!). It’s about joy, freedom and spreading a bit of sparkle in a sometimes-gloomy world! And my dears, that’s a mission that's worth getting your tutu out for!

It's not always easy to travel, darlings, especially with the price of those train tickets, but let me tell you, every penny was worth it for Hampstead. It's an experience that will stay with me, and I’m sure will be imprinted in my heart forever! I left feeling inspired, filled with laughter and maybe just a tiny bit pinker. Now, you can’t beat that, can you darlings?

Before I go, darlings, don't forget to check out my website, www.pink-tutu.com, for all the latest updates, blog posts, and, of course, my stunning pink tutu collection! You're all tutu-licious darlings, so don’t be shy. Pop on over!

Until next time,

Your beloved Pink Tutu Sparkles x

P.S. Did I tell you about the time I met the most delightful chap at a train station? We both just fell in love with the most amazing vintage pink tutu and started talking - you know, tutus will get you started on any conversation - and you know what, darling, he is just the sweetest thing and I might even ask him out for tea on my next trip to London… oh, maybe next time we can meet for a tutu class? Oh, dear me, I can already hear the happy, happy tunes!
