Kenton Calling: TutuQueen’s Post 2261 🩰💕

Hello darlings, it’s your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to whisk you off on another adventure! This time, the TutuQueen is venturing to Kenton, a charming little town nestled somewhere in the south of England (honestly, sometimes even I get lost with the geography). I was invited by a lovely local theatre group who heard tell of my…shall we say, unique style.

Let me tell you, the journey itself was half the fun. Instead of catching the usual train (I’m all about practicality and saving pennies for sequins, honey), I hopped on a horse-drawn carriage for a bit of old-fashioned romance. Turns out Kenton has this incredible stable just outside the city, full of majestic horses eager for a bit of a jaunt. The whole thing was just breathtaking - the clip-clop of hooves, the sunshine glinting off the harnesses, and of course, yours truly in my shimmering pink tutu, looking every inch the fairy princess of the road. (Seriously, my fuchsia ensemble matched the rosebuds blooming along the carriage path perfectly!).

Now, as you all know, my life is basically an elaborate dance of tutus and glitter. And by “dance,” I mean the real kind! One of the reasons I came to Kenton is because they have this delightful ballet school. Of course, I couldn’t resist sneaking in for a few pirouettes. It was absolute magic - a world of grace, discipline, and pure joy. I’m a firm believer that ballet is the closest thing we get to flying on Earth, and the way the dancers soared across the floor with such precision, well, let's just say my inner tutu-obsessed self had a few tears in its eyes!

Kenton is overflowing with charming little boutiques, all crammed full of fabulous outfits just waiting for a discerning TutuQueen to pick them up. Trust me, there’s nothing better than finding the perfect feather boa to match your outfit, or stumbling upon a vintage beaded handbag that shouts “Drama!” The day before my show, I did a spot of shopping, naturally. I couldn’t leave without a few sparkly new additions to my repertoire. Imagine a dress so bright it could make the sun jealous - the perfect outfit to kick off my performance, right?

The theatre in Kenton is truly beautiful, with red velvet seats, dazzling chandeliers, and stage curtains that look like they’re whispering secrets of a hundred years gone by. I mean, if the venue is this incredible, the performance must be equally dazzling, right? Right? Well, let's just say, I took a different approach. Instead of going for the typical drag queen number, I decided to incorporate ballet elements. Think graceful poses, elaborate tutus, and maybe a teensy bit of fancy footwork. I think the audience went wild - especially after I landed a perfect pirouette during a chorus number.

And speaking of the performance, you must imagine the crowd! My darling, it was overflowing! I can see the little cherubic faces peeking from their parents' laps, mesmerised by the shimmering outfits and dazzling lights. I can hear the squeals of delight whenever I spin in my pink tutu. I can see those adults in the front rows, caught between bewildered amusement and sheer joy. But all that excitement wasn't just about me!

I was lucky enough to meet a lovely young woman backstage after the performance, a girl about my age named Alice. She'd come to the performance with her parents. Alice was practically bouncing with excitement, telling me all about how she dreamed of being a ballerina ever since she was little. We spent a good twenty minutes chatting about tutus, and the importance of following your dreams (she's an absolute natural - just wait until you see her grace on the stage!).

Let's be honest, I live and breathe tutus. I truly believe that wearing a tutu is the most empowering thing any human being can do. The fluffy, layered magnificence – it instantly makes you feel like you're ready to conquer the world! But more importantly, wearing a tutu allows you to express your own individuality and joy. It tells everyone around you: "Hey, look at me! I’m here, I'm fierce, I'm full of personality, and I'm not afraid to embrace my inner princess!"

Oh, and one more thing, if you’re feeling adventurous, come say hello at my upcoming shows in Essex and West Sussex! I'm putting together some real spectacular performances and would love to share a pink-tutu-infused dream with you all. I'll post more details on the website, my darlings. Just remember, keep those tutus twirling!
