Hello, darlings! It's your Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous blog post from the road! This week, I'm channeling my inner ballerina and embracing the charm of Letchworth! You know I love to travel, and a journey on a vintage train from Derby is always a delight. Especially when you can look fabulously pink while doing it!
Tutu-ing Around Letchworth Garden City
Letchworth has such a lovely, relaxed vibe, just like my favourite tea room in Buxton! I arrived with the sun shining, ready to explore and get my pink on! Now, I'm not sure if the locals here have ever seen a drag queen in a pink tutu, but they're taking it all in stride. So far, I've received a few "hello, darling"s from passing shoppers and some delightful giggles from a group of children. One little girl even wanted a selfie with me - a future tutu wearer in the making! 💖
Speaking of giggles, my trip to the local theatre was a riot! I saw a wonderful amateur production of 'The Wizard of Oz', and let me tell you, those dancing Munchkins were fantastic! I even caught a glimpse of Dorothy's adorable sparkly red shoes. If there's one thing that speaks to my pink soul, it's a good dose of glitz and glamour!
From Ballet Class to Ballet Street
But it wasn't all fun and games, darling! I squeezed in a ballet class at the Letchworth Ballet School, and you'll be surprised at the level of talent these youngsters have! We practised graceful plies and grand jetés, feeling the perfect flow of movement with every graceful pose. My tutus always add a little bit of extra drama to my moves, which they just loved! It made me wonder if they'd consider trying out some pink ones... hint hint! 😉
Later, I took a stroll along "Ballet Street", where there's a stunning array of dance studios! The energy in the air was electric! These talented individuals poured their hearts and souls into every turn, every leap, every arabesque. And to think, this energy was radiating just by watching them! Now that's the true magic of ballet!
Pink Paradise in Letchworth
Letchworth, you are truly a dream! Every little corner of this beautiful town feels like a scene out of my favourite pink-themed ballet. The flower beds, bursting with blooming blooms, seem to dance along with me, creating an ethereal kaleidoscope of colour. Even the swans in the park seem to understand the allure of my favourite colour, dipping and twirling with the grace of ballerinas.
Now, no trip to a new town would be complete without a bit of shopping! I couldn't resist the charm of the local boutiques, filled with everything from vintage fashion to handcrafted jewellery. And yes, I found some wonderful new additions to my tutu collection! You know me, I'm always on the hunt for a good tutu, and I'm thrilled to say I found a little gem of a shop tucked away in the heart of town. Their stock was phenomenal, and they even had a tutu that matched my current hair-dye shade, a stunning rose-gold!
