Longton: A Tutu-licious Time! 🩰✨💖

Hey lovelies, it’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle some sparkle on your day! 💅

It’s been a while since I’ve been on the road, travelling around in my glamorous, tutued self, but I’ve just been back from a whirlwind trip to Longton! Oh, my dears, let me tell you, it was a right bobby-dazzler! 🌟

Now, I know some of you might be thinking, “Longton? Isn't that a bit… out there?” And to be honest, you wouldn’t be wrong. I wouldn’t say it’s the flashiest spot in the UK, but it had a charm all its own! And honestly, isn’t that the point of travelling, to discover places you never thought you’d love? 🌎

Anyway, Longton! My lovely host family, the Smith family, picked me up from the station. I knew they were real ones the second I stepped out of the cab and they greeted me with hugs and a whole chorus of, “Ooo, look at you!” You see, the Smiths are the real deal. I was even greeted by the cat, Princess Buttercup, a majestic black fluffy thing with a regal personality that made my little fluffy tutu skirts just that little bit fluffier! 💖

Right, I’ll come clean: this particular trip was a tad different. This was more than just a dazzling drag performance – oh, it was definitely that – but this was a “pink tutu outreach.” You know how I am, I'm always trying to share the joy of the tutu! This trip was about spreading the word and encouraging folk of all shapes and sizes to step outside of their comfort zones and wear a tutu! 😉

Longton Market was the place to be, with a “Tutu Tuesday” event I had dreamed up for weeks. Now, I'm a girl who loves a bit of planning and prepping, and let me tell you, my vision for this was epic! We had rainbow banners, bouncy music, and, of course, a stall overflowing with the most gloriously colourful tutus imaginable! 🌈🎶

Honestly, watching folk choose a tutu was just delightful. The little ones were especially adorable, squealing with joy as they got their first pink tulle pick. The adults were, well, let's say cautiously enthusiastic. But by the end, even some of the most hesitant had a tutu on, their faces beaming brighter than a glitter cannon! 🥰

And you know what else? Longton loved it! The town embraced my silly antics and pink-tutu enthusiasm with open arms.

It was a total delight. You know me, I love meeting the people wherever I go, especially when I can spread a bit of love and glitter along the way!

I want everyone to know – whether you're in a posh town or a quaint village like Longton – life's a bit more fun in a pink tutu. That’s my aim in life, get the world wearing a tutu! 🤩

On a slightly more serious note, as always, a big shoutout to the fab, fabulous folk who helped make this trip possible! Big hugs to the Smith family, you absolute stars! 🌟 And as for Princess Buttercup, the Queen of Cats, well, she might have taken a few sneaky swipes at my sequined shoes, but what can you do? You just gotta love the diva attitude! 🐈‍⬛👠

If you want to learn more, I have an online tutu workshop planned soon, check out the dates on my website, www.pink-tutu.com!

And speaking of my website, I hope you’re loving this little pink-tutu odyssey. I love creating them and sharing my experiences with you. Until next time, keep it sparkly and, of course, pink! 💖

Yours in tutu-ific joy,

Pink Tutu Sparkles.

A little bit about Pink Tutu Sparkles (aka Alex)

My friends call me Alex. You may see me by day in a lab testing fabrics (the secret ingredient to my fabulous costumes is out there!), but by night I shimmy and shine on stage, or as they say, under the lights!

A scientist in a lab? A pink-tutu-wearing drag queen? I hear you thinking, "Who are you?" I get that. When you live such different lives, people have to ask! You might wonder how a "girly-girl" like me (well, in this case a girly-boy in the lab) can blend both my love of science and my passion for pink tutus. Well, my dear friends, it's a delicate dance of logic and sparkly whimsy, I’m telling you!

This pink tutu world just sort of opened up for me in university, where I’d happily go to all the university’s events with a flamboyant twist, dressing in vibrant clothing to add that something extra. My first experience with the wonderful world of tutus, my dears, wasn't something I planned - it happened organically. A fundraising event for a charity brought me face-to-face with my fate (or my "fate-astic tutu" as you’ll call it soon)! There I was, staring at all these magnificent pink, purple, turquoise and green fluffy things hanging on rails ready for people to buy! I grabbed a shimmering tulle delight, threw it on and the rest was history!

Anyway, it's been my dream ever since, to get every single person on the planet wearing a pink tutu. That's not an easy job you know, especially as there's a fair amount of 'tututist' naysayers out there, some saying I’m a little 'too' passionate about my tutus. Let me tell you though, it's more than just the fluff! It’s a chance for folks to play pretend, be silly and spread some love in the most fantastic way! It’s like stepping out of the ordinary into a world of dazzling imagination!

What are my inspirations? Well, honestly, life! From the amazing dance of the stars to the graceful fluttering of a butterfly. From the fashion magazines I pick up when I travel (let me tell you, some of these places just have the most exquisite clothing) to my favourite dance teacher! I always have the time for a little tutu fun, and to go shopping for clothes for that "Pink Tutu Sparkles" flair. There's something magical about dressing up, I swear it gives you super-human confidence. It can turn the simplest of outfits into a captivating story. ✨

And when it comes to getting around, I prefer to embrace the simple things - catching a train, maybe going on an old-fashioned horse ride or catching the most elegant and luxurious train, it makes the journey part of the adventure! 🚂🐎

I just hope, somewhere, someday, we all get to share a tutu-ific dance, hand in hand with everyone - just imagining a whole crowd swirling around in tutus sends shivers of delight through me! 🤩 Now that's what I call a life well-lived. Don't be afraid to join the party, it's the pink-tutu way of life, you’ll love it! 💖

But that’s enough from me for today. Have you found your pink tutu inspiration? Remember: a tutu is not just a tutu – it’s an expression of who you are, your journey and your inner-sparkle. Let's make the world a more colourful, fun, sparkly, tutu-ful place, shall we? 💕

Catch you soon!

Pink Tutu Sparkles

(PS: This blog post is #2301! Can you believe we've been sharing sparkle for so long? You all make this incredible journey worthwhile.💖)
