#TutuQueen on 2006-05-18 stars in Liverpool

Hello darlings! It’s your TutuQueen, Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the fabulous city of Liverpool! This is post number 2330, can you believe it? I feel like I’ve been writing this blog forever! Well, in drag years anyway! 💖

As I said on the blog the other day, I was feeling the need for a good old-fashioned adventure! The train ride here was absolute bliss, it felt like I’d stepped right out of a period drama, with the clackety-clack of the tracks, the smell of the old steam train and the swaying of the carriage windows! I felt so elegant in my latest ensemble: a custom-made blush-pink tulle tutu, topped off with a satin top, diamanté necklace, and a pair of glittery pink heels - I could hear the other passengers saying, “Look at that pink fairy!” (I hope that’s what they were saying, anyway!) I’m starting to think I could make a proper career out of travelling by train! I've always dreamt of getting a job at a stately home just so I could wander the grounds in all my finery, wouldn't that be something?

Anyway, back to Liverpool. As you all know, this town is steeped in music history, so I had to make sure I popped into The Cavern Club! It was a proper rock-and-roll trip down memory lane and, yes, darling, I twirled my pink tutu in the hallowed hall. After all, why can't you wear a tutu in a music club? Honestly, some people! Just like the great artists before me - the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, you know - it's about making a statement, about owning the space and bringing a touch of Pink Tutu Sparkles to the world! It’s important to bring joy, a dash of glitz, a dose of kindness, a twirl, and - naturally - the most dazzling pink tutu in town!

Speaking of joy, I went to see a ballet show last night and oh my god! The dancers were unbelievable! It’s actually amazing how they make their moves look so effortless. All the leaping, twirling and bending… it made me want to bust out some moves myself. Which, I did! Of course, there's nothing like seeing professionals. I had a bit of a pink tutu twirl off with a little girl in the audience, and let’s just say, she gave me a run for my money! I'll have to practice more!

Talking of practicing, I also went to a ballet class! And my dear, I was so nervous. There were all these professional ballet dancers, looking like they were straight out of Swan Lake. And me, in my bright pink tutu. The look of bemusement on their faces... Well, let's just say, it wasn't hard to miss me! I may not be able to perfect a grand jeté just yet, but let’s just say I stole the show with my sparkly pink tutus. I'll be sharing those photos on www.pink-tutu.com later!

And speaking of pink, darling, you wouldn’t believe what I found at a little vintage shop yesterday. I got myself this absolutely gorgeous blush-pink brooch with a delicate flower design on it. It’s perfect to wear on a tutu, wouldn't you agree? I actually found the shop tucked away on a little back street in a quiet, historic area. This place feels so peaceful and charming. It’s been a nice break from the busy streets! Sometimes, you have to go a bit further off the beaten track, darling, to find real gems. I’ll be sharing some tips about my favourite hidden gems on the blog.

Speaking of my pink tutu-wearing travels, what has caught my eye today? A whole street dedicated to beautiful pink buildings. It's practically a pink dream come true, darling! This town has certainly stolen a little piece of my heart with its pink tutus, pink shops and its dedication to ballet!
