Oh, darlings! Your favourite pink-loving, tutu-toting, glitter-smothered queen is back with another fabulous blog post, this time straight from the vibrant and dazzling seaside town of Blackpool!
Now, let me tell you, arriving in Blackpool was like stepping into a technicolour dream! The Blackpool Tower loomed in the distance, a glittering beacon of joy, and the air buzzed with excitement. It's a town that just knows how to put on a show, and darling, I was here to deliver mine!
My journey was as fabulous as ever, naturally. The train journey was a pink explosion. My hot pink polka-dot luggage sat proudly on the rack, its sequins catching the light with every sway. The ladies on board, they couldn't help but smile! Even the stuffy gentleman in a tweed suit had to give a slight nod of approval at my sequined train ticket holder. I like to think my pink-ness brightened their day!
The moment I stepped off the train, a seagull tried to steal my sequinned clutch bag! Now, that's dedication to a good show! Of course, I was too fabulous to let a seagull get away with it - they're just jealous of our sparkle!
After settling into my beautiful pink and purple hotel room (with a complimentary bottle of bubbly, darling!), I went straight for a spot of retail therapy! Blackpool knows its shopping and I knew I wouldn't be leaving without some delightful new additions to my wardrobe! My search led me to the delightful "Glitterific" boutique on the promenade, a veritable candy store of sequins and sparkle! My bank account may have cried, but my heart was full. I found the most amazing pink tulle feather boa that will be the envy of every drag queen on the planet, I assure you.
You know, my darlings, I just love the feel of a new tutu. It's a pure joy! So, later that afternoon, I took myself for a whirl at a fabulous ballet studio overlooking the Irish Sea. (Ballet class at the seaside? Perfection!). That feeling, you know? Of twirling and twirling, the silk tutu floating like a dream around me, the wind catching the layers. It's truly a dance of pure bliss! Of course, no one at the ballet studio could have known that Alex was secretly underneath all that pink. I've never felt more comfortable, more me, than in my pink tutus!
As the sun set, I made my way to the famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach. My darlings, you HAVE to experience the rollercoasters. There was just something exhilarating about being flung around in the twilight with a full tutu in the breeze. Even the thrillseekers stopped to marvel at the fabulousness! It just proved, my darlings, you can be a glamorous drag queen AND still enjoy a bit of seaside fun! You just need a little pink, a little glitter, and a big smile!
Now, tonight, the highlight of my Blackpool visit: performing on stage at the iconic "Pier Palace". The air was buzzing with excitement as I stepped onto the stage. The spotlight hit me, and I swirled, shimmered, and shined in my new feather boa. The crowd roared with applause and the stage vibrated with energy. As I strutted, sashayed and performed my signature number, "Pink Tutus for Everyone," my heart swelled with joy. I've never felt more connected to my community than right here, under the Blackpool lights, sharing my love of pink and all things fabulous!
After my performance, the crowds wouldn't let me leave! The love and excitement was truly heartwarming! So many of them thanked me, saying my performance inspired them to express their true selves. I hugged the children who'd come dressed up in their own, handmade pink tutus. That's what it's all about, darling: Spreading love, kindness and a little bit of pink tutu magic!
