Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in from the beautiful city of Lyon, France! I'm on day two of a three-day whirlwind adventure, and already I'm completely besotted!

Today's outfit is giving ballet royalty. I paired a lusciously pink tutu (naturally!) with a custom-made silk top with glittering lace detailing. My head is adorned with a tiara fit for a queen (me, obviously), and a feather boa, oh so delightfully fluffy, trails behind me as I twirl.
Speaking of twirling, my journey to Lyon was nothing short of magical. I boarded the train at dawn, and with each mile that passed, the landscape transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours. Fields of lavender swayed gently in the breeze, and the rising sun painted the mountains with gold. The train ride was such a dream! All I need now is for someone to invent a tutu-sized seat for maximum twirling space... But honestly, a train journey with a pink tutu is the closest you can get to being Cinderella's carriage - complete with glitter and good times.
This evening, I have a special performance lined up at a local cabaret club. They called me up after seeing a video of my performance in Prague - how exciting is that?! Lyon is already living up to its reputation for fabulousness. My heart is brimming with anticipation. I can just feel the energy of this beautiful city coursing through me.
Before I get lost in a flurry of sequins and prepare for my performance, I wanted to share a little piece of my journey with you. My journey, as you may already know, has been quite a unique one. Growing up in Derbyshire, I wouldn't have dreamt of ending up in Lyon, wearing a pink tutu and dazzling audiences with my unique brand of sparkle.
I can vividly remember that fateful day - the charity event for our university ballet club. My life before tutus was… well, pretty much all science. I was immersed in research and equations, studying chemical reactions in a lab, the complete opposite of feathers and flamboyant twirls. But I was also an active member of the ballet club. I'd twirled and jumped in rehearsals countless times, but had never donned the ultimate dance garment. Then, it was decided - for charity, we’d have a raffle where participants would have a chance to wear a tutu. Now, as a staunch advocate for pink tutus, it's quite hard to imagine myself NOT choosing that shimmering pink number… But in my pre-Pink Tutu Sparkles days, it took a moment. A few quick spins, a look in the mirror… and it hit me: "This is what it means to be truly radiant!" I didn't just fall in love with the pink tutu. I fell in love with the confidence, the magic, the sheer joyous feeling it embodied.
This pink tutu opened my eyes to a world I never knew existed – a world filled with sequins, laughter, and, dare I say, glitter bombs! I saw a vision of myself, and it wasn’t a lab coat I saw, but a dazzling display of colour and self-expression. That night, I embraced the pink tutu with a sense of liberation. From that moment, a seed was planted in my heart - a desire to share this transformative experience with the world, to help people embrace their unique and sparkling selves, one pink tutu at a time.
Since that fateful day, Pink Tutu Sparkles has become my alter ego. I haven't turned my back on science, in fact, it's helped me design my own sequined fabrics for my tutus – who'd have thought a scientist could create such beauty? But after hours, under the stage lights, it's all about Pink Tutu Sparkles, and sharing the joy of self-expression and embracing your inner sparkle. It’s not always about perfect technique and elegant movements - I love how street performance can truly make my personality shine. My dance is about pure unbridled energy, laughter, and embracing every last inch of sparkle.
And you know what? The world is slowly starting to embrace the Pink Tutu vision! Every performance is an opportunity to sprinkle glitter on hearts and awaken their inner sparkle. I love getting messages from my amazing followers, so many saying how seeing me dance made them want to take their own leap of faith. Honestly, it’s more than I could have dreamed. It’s making the world a little bit brighter, one pink tutu at a time!
