Hammersmith Calling!

Post number: 2377

Hello, darlings! It's your favourite pink-tutu-wearing princess, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and oh, my stars, what a fabulous time I had in Hammersmith! This little London adventure had everything - glitz, glam, and, of course, tutus.

You see, my loves, Hammersmith holds a special place in my heart, not just for its amazing Victorian architecture and buzzing market but because of its connection to the iconic Royal Ballet! Just being near a place so full of artistic brilliance makes my heart sing, or should I say, "tutu" - I always get carried away with my puns, don't I?

Before I gush about the fabulous shows I saw and the enchanting shops I found, let's catch up a bit. The train ride from Derbyshire was, shall we say, a bit of a whirlwind. Imagine: me, in a bubblegum pink tulle tutu, platform heels clicking on the carriage floor, a bright pink feather boa wrapped around my head - it certainly turned some heads! And let's just say I've got the entire compartment singing along to "Dancing Queen" by the time we reached Hammersmith station! Honestly, I could never understand why anyone would take the underground! It's so stuffy, with all those people rushing about - my kind of glam-tastic travel is just a bit more...well, Pink Tutu Sparkles!

My dear followers, it's time I told you about how this crazy adventure started. My secret? It's all thanks to that glorious day back in university, the day I was dared to put on a pink tutu for charity! We were in the student union, doing a fun fundraiser to support a local ballet school, and there it was - a beautiful, frilly pink tutu! The rest, as they say, is history. The sheer delight of twirling and prancing around in it... It made me want to make my own dreams take flight. And that, my darlings, is how Pink Tutu Sparkles came into being!

Anyway, I was off to Hammersmith to explore its hidden treasures. First stop - the stunning Hammersmith Apollo - an art-deco palace of a theatre that's seen some legendary acts, from Jimi Hendrix to Elton John. I stood mesmerized, imagining myself in those glittering spotlights, wowing the audience with my signature sparkles and a dramatic twirl of a tulle dream! It made me wonder - maybe one day I will grace the Apollo stage with my signature pink sparkle and flair!

The Great Ballet Boutique Adventure!

Then, it was off to the heart of Hammersmith, on a mission to hunt down some magnificent tutus. I must tell you, darling, there's a delightful shop called the The Ballet Boutique near the river, just begging for a princess to discover it! Honestly, the walls were lined with racks of dazzling, sparkly, perfectly poofy tutus - it felt like walking into a fairy tale. There were tutus in every colour you could dream of, and I spent a happy hour there, surrounded by tutus, like a queen in her own private wardrobe. I even tried on a stunningly sequined pink tutu, which sparked the most spectacular impromptu pirouette-and-pose session ever. My heart almost skipped a beat with excitement! I managed to contain my inner ballerina for a while and bought a delicate silk wrap-around tutu with sparkling silver accents for the final night of my visit. What else can I say, my lovelies, a new tutu just made the trip complete!

Hammersmith’s hidden culinary delights

The next day, it was time for some serious shopping for outfits and more glittery items for my collection. Oh, and food! One of my favourite shops in Hammersmith has got to be The Italian Place. You'd think it's just another pasta place, right? But oh, how wrong you would be. This little gem had delicious fresh pasta dishes and an atmosphere that's truly irresistible. Oh, I can't forget to mention the best coffee. You’d think they made the espresso themselves, and served it in porcelain cups just for you. Honestly, every experience I had, every flavour, everything, just screamed... “Glamour, glam!” Of course, I was dressed in a gorgeous turquoise dress - it’s a bit different to the usual Pink Tutu Sparkles! And my favourite pink stilettos. You know I’m all about the details, darlings.

London calling - theatre is calling

Later that evening, I finally reached the reason for this incredible journey! After hours of travel, I finally saw Cinderella at the beautiful and iconic Hammersmith Lyric Theatre. This gorgeous venue has been showing amazing theatre productions for decades. It’s a lovely little space, not so big you feel lost in it, and feels so cosmopolitan! My loves, if you haven't been there yet, you must make time for this London treasure.

The performance of Cinderella was an absolute dream! Imagine the most amazing music, gorgeous costumes (some even with sparkles, just like my favourite ones!), and stunningly graceful dancers. They all made the night a magical experience, and of course, as soon as the curtain closed, I danced back to my hotel, twirling in my own little private show, imagining the applause of thousands!

London adventure complete!

Before you say “good bye!” Remember that when you are travelling, sometimes the best experiences are the little unexpected ones! For instance, on my last morning in London, as I walked past a flower stall by Hammersmith Bridge, I stopped and bought myself a little bouquet of bright pink roses. I must confess, they were even more pink than my favourite tulle - that’s how incredibly pink they were. Of course, these pink gems went straight to my lovely hotel room and adorned my table. A girly detail that makes the experience even more glamorous, right?!

My darling followers, you just gotta make Hammersmith part of your adventures soon. Just remember to pack your most gorgeous outfit for a glam evening out - it’s well worth the trip!

As always, I hope my latest blog adventure has inspired you all to spread the love and wear your very own pink tutu - even if just around your house, to the shops or on your daily adventures. You never know, the joy you spread could even turn heads!

I will be posting more about my amazing adventure soon! Until then, keep twirling, keep smiling, and keep sparkling, my dears!

Lots of love and tutus,

Pink Tutu Sparkles

XOXO
