East Ham Calling! #TutuQueen Takes On London Town (Blog Post #2403)

Oh, darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, reporting live from the glorious, bustling, exciting city of London!

I know, I know, you're all wondering how I, a simple girl from the charming rolling hills of Derbyshire, managed to get to the big smoke. Well, it was all thanks to the magical powers of… ballet, darling!

You see, last week I saw a poster for the most fabulous ballet production at the Royal Opera House in London. "The Nutcracker," starring a renowned prima ballerina, a captivating Prince, and, of course, an abundance of pink tutus! (Could I resist? You know I couldn't!)

Now, getting to London can be quite the adventure, and I'm a girl who likes her adventures dramatic, wouldn't you agree? Well, my dear readers, this adventure involved a journey unlike any other!

Firstly, I thought I'd ditch the mundane, grey world of buses and embrace the elegance of the railroad! I hopped onto a train that looked like it came straight out of a period film, all wood-paneled, vintage elegance, with a dash of pink floral upholstery (because who doesn't love a touch of pink?).

But the train ride was only half the journey! Once in London, I knew I had to add a touch of glamour to my arrival. So, I contacted a splendid livery service and rented a sleek white horse with a saddle draped in a silky pink cover! It was like stepping out of a fairytale. The carriage ride through London was something out of a dream, and, to top it all off, the horse, whose name, I believe, was ‘Flutter’ was even adorned with a small pink ribbon in its mane! It truly was a moment worthy of Instagram! (Which, I quickly made sure to capture for all of you, darling!)

Upon arriving at the Royal Opera House, I couldn't help but gasp at the magnificent architecture. It was all so grand and regal, just like the ballet inside! The whole building oozed history and grandeur, and I felt like I’d stepped into a real-life, swirling fairytale. The sheer elegance and grandeur of it all!

The ballet was beyond words, my dears. The costumes, the dancers, the music! It was a symphony of pure grace and artistry. And the main character's tutu? It was perfection. A perfect circle of pink tulle, billowing with every twirl. It was simply divine.

Afterwards, I felt compelled to visit a charming tea shop, one where the teacups were dainty and painted with pink roses! You know I couldn't resist the temptation to indulge in some finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream, and of course, a delightful pot of Earl Grey! (Oh, darling, you know I’m always the queen of afternoon tea!) I must admit, my daydream for a while involved buying up every teapot and china teacup in that shop… But I figured I'd leave that for another day!

But the fun didn’t stop there! I spent the rest of the day exploring the streets of East Ham! Oh, darling, this little district of London has charm that truly sparkles! It’s filled with tiny independent shops, vibrant street art, a lively marketplace brimming with life… all tucked away within cobbled streets. I had the absolute delight of discovering the East Ham Carnival, a local festival, teeming with music, food stalls, and yes, you guessed it – fabulous people in colorful costumes. (I managed to blend in perfectly! Who needs an extra tutu anyway?).

But even on the most whirlwind adventures, it's good to always have some down time, darling. So, as the sun dipped towards dusk, I indulged in a delightful evening stroll, where I spotted the most spectacular flower shop. It was overflowing with lush arrangements, vibrant lilies, and even pink orchids – the kind that would make my own little heart skip a beat! (I, of course, indulged in a fragrant rose – after all, even Tutu Queen needs some sweet, delicate petals to keep her smelling divine!)

My darling readers, this adventure was all about pink tutus, beautiful flowers, a splash of the vintage and a dash of pure wonder! It just proves that wherever life takes you, remember to twirl, glitter, and shine – in pink, of course! And never forget that everyone can be a Tutu Queen, in their own way, with a little pink sparkle and a lot of love.

Until next time, darlings!

XOXO,
