South Shields: Sparkle and Shine, Pink Tutu Style!

Hey darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here, signing in for post number 2406! I'm back with a whole heap of glitter, some sunshiney smiles and a few, well, let's call them, 'slightly unexpected' travel adventures!

So, today's story begins with me in my trusty old (but oh-so-comfortable!) railway carriage. Picture it: the morning sun streaming through the window, lighting up my fluffy pink tutu with a pearly glow, the rhythmic clatter of the train as it glides along the tracks. Now add a splash of vibrant colour - that would be me, darling, perched in my plush seat, sporting a pink feathered headpiece that could rival the plumage of a flamingo! And lastly, add a hint of drama - that would be me throwing my handbag up in the air, my signature "I'm-a-Pink-Tutu-Queen-and-I-am-SO-HERE" move that gets the whole carriage staring, but let's face it, honey, it's the pink tutu that always grabs the attention, right?!

Off to South Shields! Now, if you've been following my blog (and I hope you are, sweetie!), you'll know I love a good adventure, and you'll also know that travelling by train is the absolute pinnacle of sartorial excellence (that means fashionable, darling!). Why? Well, because it's the ultimate platform for expressing your inner-queen. Imagine strutting past your fellow passengers in a flurry of pink, glitter and tulle, radiating joy and pinkness. Just... perfect!

And where do I go? Well, today it's a grand trip up to the gorgeous seaside town of South Shields! This place has a real spark! The sea air was fresh and crisp, making me feel alive. The harbour was teeming with life, from fishermen hauling in their nets to kids having a splash around in the water, there was a lovely atmosphere. And then, there's the beach... Oh, the beach! I couldn't resist taking a stroll along the golden sands, my pink tulle billowing behind me like a mermaid's tail. And the seagulls! Always eager for a bit of pink tulle sparkle! They didn't give a single flap, they were simply charmed by the pink.

Now, you may be wondering what I do in a seaside town, right? Well, my darling, the reason for this trip was quite a lovely one. A local theatre had gotten in touch, and asked if I would join their Summer Seaside Fun extravaganza. Now, my dear, this queen lives for a good theatrical event, and so off I trotted! I must say, I brought down the house in South Shields, my dear! My performance was pure sunshine, pure pink tulle, and all-round glitter-filled magic! The audience loved me! The kids were mesmerized by my dancing and the older folks were swooning at my outfit! One sweet little boy came up to me after my show, bright-eyed, and asked me, "Miss Sparkle, do you have a magic tutu?" and before I even got a chance to reply, his mama chimed in, "Honey, there are no magic tutus, that's just Pink Tutu Sparkle's wonderful, sparkly costume!" Oh, my darlings! It made me positively beam!

This was my fourth gig of the week! Now, don't get me wrong, I love performing. It's part of my magic, you know. But you've got to keep that scientist in me balanced. Remember I work in a lab by day testing fabrics, I always use the day job to inspire my drag! You'd never guess what I'm going to create from my latest experiments! Well, actually, you'll be able to guess when I tell you it involves 20 yards of fuchsia velvet, a sparkly-green wig, and...well, I’ll let you discover that in a future post!

However, I don't like to think of it as a “job,” sweetie, it’s more like…well, spreading pink-tutu cheer! Just spreading the love, you know? If that means taking my glitter and sparkle to the farthest reaches of the kingdom, then so be it! And honestly, who wouldn't want a bit of pink tutu magic in their life? The answer, my dears, is no one! So next time you see a pink tutu queen, with sparkly eyelashes and an even sparklier heart, know that she is there to make your day brighter. Because isn't that what life is all about?

As the sun began its slow descent over the South Shields shoreline, casting an amber glow across the water, it was time to say goodbye. Now, I’m a real “glass half-full” kind of girl, my dear, so there was only one way I was leaving that seaside town… on a horse, of course! You can imagine my pink tutu billowing in the wind as I cantered towards the train station! Well, darling, a little bit of horse riding is always good for the soul! It's all about embracing those unexpected journeys and adventures. It was certainly the perfect end to a whirlwind, sparkling day. And I don't think I could have asked for a more fitting goodbye from my seaside friends than a graceful (but admittedly slightly frantic) dash on horseback!

And now, my dears, back to the everyday! Tomorrow, I'm taking on London. The theatre has got me booked for a few days, performing in a delightful outdoor musical with a group of fabulous ladies in red-sequin jumpsuits - and guess who is bringing the colour pink to the show?!

This pink tutu queen is certainly ready for another dazzling day, full of sparkles and pink delights! So stay tuned, darling, there's much more glitter to come!

Until next time, stay sparkly, stay fabulous, and wear pink,

Your ever-so-pink, Pink Tutu Sparkles. xx
