Now, you know how much I love my tutus, and today's post is a dedication to those twirly beauties, because it's all about Uxbridge, darling!
Uxbridge has this charming old-fashioned vibe, like a scene straight out of a Jane Austen novel. But hold onto your feathers, babes, because this little town packs a punch when it comes to all things glamorous. Think tea shops galore, vintage clothing stores, and quaint boutiques - absolute heaven for a drag queen like me! 💅💄
I journeyed there on a grand adventure – and when I say grand, I mean grand! Of course, no adventure is complete without the ultimate mode of transportation – a good old-fashioned train ride. The chugging, the view of the countryside rolling by – just glorious, don’t you think? I can’t help but get all nostalgic whenever I’m on a train – memories of grand theatrical trips from my Derbyshire days, full of big dreams and even bigger tutus.
Speaking of big dreams, my darling friends, I have an ambitious goal: I want every single one of you to wear a pink tutu! Think of the possibilities! Imagine the world lit up in a soft, rosy glow. 💖🌸 It would be pure magic, and a testament to the power of femininity, beauty, and just a little bit of sparkle.
My trip to Uxbridge was actually a “pink tutu mission”, as I call them. You see, Uxbridge is home to the Uxbridge Ballet Centre, a true treasure for lovers of dance and those delicate tulle confections that I, well, simply adore!
I was there to do what I do best: perform my fabulous drag act, but also to give the amazing young ballerinas a chance to live their most twirly dreams. After the show, they all gathered around me – a pink tutu-clad vision, shimmering with happiness! 💖✨ The look on their faces – you know that look – a mix of joy and inspiration? Oh darling, I swear my heart nearly burst! That’s why I do this – to spread joy and make dreams come true.
While I was at the Centre, I stumbled upon a real gem of a shop. It was a charming vintage clothing boutique called “The Velvet Cloak”. This little shop was bursting with amazing, quirky pieces – perfect for a queen like me. I fell head over heels for a velvet bodice, a splash of shimmering gold on an old feather boa, and of course, I couldn't resist a brand new, glorious pink tutu, all soft and fluffy. The moment I put it on, I felt my heart sing, darling. 💖💖💖 It's those little joys that make life so special, isn't it?
But my adventures weren’t limited to vintage shops and ballet centres. I even went on a delightful carriage ride through the countryside, pulled by the most magnificent horses – their coats shone like liquid silk! 🐎✨ And the fresh air! Darling, I felt as if I had been born again!
As always, food was an integral part of the journey. Let’s talk pastries! I stumbled upon a little bakery tucked away on a quiet street. Their pastries? Let me tell you, they were simply divine. The pastry chef was so kind and creative – I swear she even made a special, shimmering pastry just for me, a fluffy concoction sprinkled with pink and sparkly icing. 💖🧁 I truly felt like a queen! 👑
Now, as the sun began to set over Uxbridge, it painted the sky in a spectacular canvas of oranges, reds and pinks - the colours of my very own kingdom! I watched from my window, the shimmering pink tutu adorning my lovely form, and thought, “What an incredible day”. Uxbridge, you truly have my heart.
