Fleet - Post #2484 - Pink Tutu Sparkles Takes on the Thames Valley

Hello darlings! It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to sprinkle a bit of magic on your day. As you all know, my mission is to bring the sparkle to the world, and what better way than with a whirl through the lovely Thames Valley in my most fabulous pink tutu?

This week, I'm venturing to the charming town of Fleet, Hampshire! Now, Fleet is famous for its gorgeous scenery and historic architecture. A truly lovely place! But more importantly for me - they have a rather fabulous, brand new theatre and a rather tempting dance studio! Imagine me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, bringing my glittering presence to these fine establishments. Oh, it was utterly delightful.

It's been a while since I last posted a blog - you know how busy my travelling life is - performing in fairgrounds and theatre shows, spreading the word of pink tutu wonder all over the British Isles! Honestly, I don’t think I could get anywhere without my trusty, fluffy pink tutu companion! She always travels with me – by horse-drawn carriage if I'm near home and train when venturing further. Just like my real self, Alex, loves to travel on trains, the tutu prefers the train to driving as there's usually an opportunity to meet up with other drag performers on a journey - always fun, lots of laughs.

But enough about me. I’m sure you’re dying to know about the glorious sights I've been enjoying on this Fleet escapade! First, a quick glance into my fashion diaries! I took three fabulous outfits with me on this trip.

*Look 1: The 'Royal Pink Promenade' *

A true statement! It was a magnificent number that featured an extravagant tiered tutu, as soft and delicate as a ballerina's dream! I paired this with a satin pink top, my signature glitter wings and high heeled silver pumps - think Princess but with a pop star attitude - just perfect for that evening performance I did at the local pub! My pink fluffy earmuffs were an absolute must as, although I loved seeing those big harvest moons - they can get a bit nippy at this time of year.

Look 2: 'Fleet Fanfare'

A truly dramatic choice for visiting the lovely Fleet Theatre, don’t you think? A very classic pink tulle tutu, slightly ruffled at the hem and paired with a chic pink feather boa that floated like a cloud and some elegant black lace opera gloves to add a touch of vintage. This outfit gave off a theatrical feel without losing the sweet and sassy personality I am known for.

Look 3: ‘Day Trip Darling’

This one's all about comfort. It featured my most favourite little ballerina length tutu, with beautiful frills, perfect for waltzing through the cobblestone streets. A cute cropped cotton t-shirt emblazoned with my name 'Pink Tutu Sparkles', and of course - the most divine, glittery, little pink pumps! So cute, a true dance-ready look that could take me from visiting the theatre, shopping for fabric at the craft store - it even got me into the dance class at that fantastic studio, where I did the 'tutu' thing and learned some new steps - a bit of a 'Ballet, Blues and Tutu' vibe if you like - fun for everyone.

Talking about the Dance Studio, did you know that the owner - she's so sweet, was wearing pink tights under a denim skirt on my first visit and loved hearing all about my pink tutu quest! It was so nice to meet someone else with a flair for pink – you never know who’s hiding a pink tutu underneath their clothes in Fleet! I also bumped into the most gorgeous dog at a local tea room. It had a pink bow! Imagine - how glamorous!

You'd be surprised at how many people get excited about the pink tutu. Just yesterday, a woman walking a Labrador came up to me after my theatre performance. She was wearing the most divine sparkly pink heels, a deep purple velvet coat and told me she was a big fan and even gave me a handmade lavender eye mask - lovely lady, loved my look!

Now, speaking of the theatre! This was one of my favourite experiences! Imagine walking onto the stage, spotlights bathing me in pink light! It was so exciting, there's no other way to describe it! The applause, the audience, and all of them captivated by my moves. I’m definitely heading back to perform in Fleet! The people are very warm, so welcoming - and everyone was so thrilled with my performances. I met one lovely young lady, maybe just 11 years old - but so stylish. She said that she wanted to be a performer - how fab - just like me! And when I asked if she had any tutu’s, she pulled out a beautiful pastel green tutu - the excitement!

And guess what? One of my favourite shops - ‘Miss Betty’s Delights' I adore that shop, a little corner emporium, with a window full of delightful clothes! So charming! It had a whole collection of pink velvet cushions - pink is the colour - we all love a bit of pink - and some utterly gorgeous antique hats, all in various shades of pink. It’s worth a visit just to see how fabulous and pink Fleet is. The whole day was an utter fairytale for a pink tutu princess.

Well, that's it for my travels this time, don't forget, Pink Tutu Sparkles is on tour - if you have an event you think I'd be a hit at - get in touch, via the Pink Tutu website. I love travelling by train to different shows - even if my pink tutu takes up a lot of space. It's just the way things are! And you know, in a few weeks' time I'm going to be in…drum roll, Birmingham! Stay tuned, my dear friends. There's so much more glitz, glamour and of course, lots of pink to share with you.

Stay sparkling!

Love, Pink Tutu Sparkles
