Hello, my gorgeous glitterati!
It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, and it’s time for another blog post from your fave drag queen blog! This is blog number 2489, and I can't believe we're already hitting this milestone - we've definitely made some sparkly memories together, haven't we?
I'm currently basking in the sunshine of Somerset, a shire that’s just as stunning as its name suggests, thanks to an incredible gig at Bridgwater. It's the perfect place for a tutu queen to unleash her sparkle, you see. It was like stepping back in time, with quaint streets and traditional charm. Bridgwater truly captivated my heart - and my love for vintage fashion - so you'll be seeing a whole lotta that pink tutu rocking a retro look in the photos I took.
But how did I get here? Well, my darling darlings, it was a grand journey! A true pink princess can't go anywhere without a dramatic entrance, right? You know, one that's both stylish and sustainable. This time I took the train - a journey that was almost as grand as the gig itself. From my Derbyshire abode, I chugged through the green fields and quaint countryside. I was totally decked out in my trusty pink tulle dress, my signature diamond-encrusted stilettos, and a giant feather boa – for the drama, obviously! You could say I brought the railway a touch of Hollywood glamour.
While I usually hop aboard a horse-drawn carriage whenever I can (for that touch of fairytale romance!), I thought a steam train journey was the perfect addition to my Bridgwater adventures. Honestly, just like every day with my Pink Tutu Sparkles persona, it felt like a real-life, sparkly adventure - with lots of fellow travelers and good ol’ British chit chat about the latest tunes!
Oh! And speaking of sparkly adventures… let’s get to the good stuff. I arrived in Bridgwater brimming with anticipation - ready to bring the sparkle, of course. The performance was fantastic! I rocked a dazzling pink number – this one was more of a dramatic layered tulle ballgown that shimmered like a disco ball under the spotlight. You know I always make sure the pink tutu plays a star role – and for this occasion, I brought in an incredible one with fluffy pink feather trims, perfect for all my fancy spins and dramatic, dazzling flourishes.
The Bridgwater crowd was amazing! I even had a sweet little one approach me with a tutu in tow. I love how it seems like even the youngest generation has been caught in the "wear pink tutus for every occasion" wave, and seeing her smile as I embraced my fellow tutu fan - honestly? That's my favourite part of being Pink Tutu Sparkles. We chatted for ages about how wonderful it is to be twirling in pink, and about how we can both spread the sparkle. I gave her a sweet little "Pink Tutu Sparkles" card as my special thank you for letting me into her world. We have to get all these new, aspiring tutu lovers onboard, right?!
Of course, I wouldn't let a visit to Bridgwater pass without a delicious spot of afternoon tea. There’s a reason why England’s known for its tea culture! I made sure to pick the spot that had the most pastel pinks and blush hues – a quintessential afternoon tea for a queen like me. I devoured a plate of scrumptious scones with clotted cream and homemade jam. Honestly? Pure heaven. A perfect sugar rush before I was off again to explore the shire’s most stunning landmarks. You know a good outfit needs good food for fuel!
And you know me – I just had to see some stunning architecture and natural beauty before I boarded the train back home. The little shire town of Bridgwater certainly offered that – there are incredible examples of history in the region that really impressed this little pink tutu lover. So we had a romantic wander along the riverbank, the historic docks, and down charming side streets – and of course, we captured some truly tutu-rific photos. This is the part where I go full “Pink Tutu Sparkles” – complete with glitter, a fancy hat, my signature diamond earrings, and the perfect photo for my blog!
But just like that, it was time to head back to my little world in Derbyshire. While it’s true my heart will always hold a special place for this Somerset gem, I’ve already started to think of what fabulous adventure awaits me next!
