Hiya darlings, and welcome back to Pink-Tutu.com! Your girl Pink Tutu Sparkle here, fresh from a whirlwind trip to Pont-y-pool, and oh, the stories I have!
This trip, my dears, was a total dream! I love hopping on a train, leaving the bustle of Derbyshire behind and just… gliding into a new place. Imagine, darling, a long journey through the rolling hills, the sun setting in shades of rose, a good book, a glass of fizz… all while wearing a fabulous new pink tutu, of course!
Speaking of fabulous, the journey to Pont-y-pool was like stepping into a technicolour fairytale! I’d been sent an invite to a special fundraiser for the local ballet school. Now, you know I live for anything ballet-related, and a charity event was just my cup of tea (with a side of Earl Grey, naturally).
I opted for a slightly more subtle, yet undeniably fabulous, tutu this time. Imagine, darlings, a fluffy pink ombre tulle creation, cascading down to my ankles, with delicate crystal embellishments catching the light. It was absolutely divine.
The train journey gave me time to suss out some amazing outfit ideas! Imagine this, my loves:
The "Pink Tutu Sparkles on a Roll" look - a playful yet practical ensemble consisting of a sleek, fitted fuchsia dress with a sparkling tutu attached in the back ala the whimsical grace of a pink flamingo!
The "Rose Gold Goddess" look - think shimmering rose gold fabric draped across my figure, with tulle draped and swirling about in all the right places. Oh, the dramatic possibilities!
Of course, a killer pair of platform heels are an essential for any Pink Tutu Sparkle outing!
Pont-y-pool welcomed me with open arms! The local ballet school had been decorated like a princess’s dream: lush pink silk banners, delicate flower arrangements, and of course, the most magical array of pink tutus you could imagine. Talk about feeling right at home!
There were several performances, including a darling performance of Swan Lake with some seriously talented youngsters. And oh, the costumes! You would have been swooning with me, darling. There was a gorgeous emerald green tutu with feathered details, a majestic black one, a sweet lavender creation. And yes, the costumes did inspire me for the Pink Tutu Sparkle performance later.
I’d planned my act with the audience in mind. Firstly, I wanted to show the young performers how much fun being a drag queen could be. And secondly, I wanted to make everyone want to get up and dance, tutus or not!
Imagine, if you will: lights dimming, a spotlight catching the sparkle of my sequined bodice and that absolutely fabulous tutu. The music swells, a modern remix of Tchaikovsky’s ‘Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy’ with a hint of disco flair (a must!).
It started with some serious high kicks in that majestic tutu (let’s just say my science lab training paid off, ha!). Then, I added some moves inspired by ballet street, my latest dance obsession (oh darling, the expressive movement, the attitude!). And I incorporated the classic twirls a la the ballet school students – gotta represent, right?
It was such a thrill to see *little faces lit up with awe and delight! Some were even attempting Pink Tutu Sparkle twirls, which really got the audience going!
After my performance, I met all the students, taking a pink-hued selfie with each and every one! I gave out my Pink Tutu Sparkle glitter pencils and told them every day can be a stage. The highlight for me was watching their faces light up when they realized they didn't need to wait for a big stage. Their living room could become a performance space! Their bedroom could transform into a glamorous dressing room! And everyone could wear a pink tutu at any given moment, even on the way to school or the shops.
That’s what Pink Tutu Sparkle’s aim in life is, my darlings. To make every day feel magical! To make dressing up a way of life, not just for special occasions.

For a fun night out with the girls, I'd rock it to a bar or nightclub. It would make you stand out (but in a good way!), and it's a sure-fire conversation starter. Just be prepared to be showered with compliments, because that's what Pink Tutu Sparkles does.
For a daytime adventure, consider a fair or a carnival. The bright colors and lively atmosphere of a carnival just scream for a tutu, don’t you think?
