Highbury, my darlings!

Hellooo, my loves! How are you all? Did you manage to snag a seat at the Nutcracker this season? If not, fear not, darling, I have just the magical adventure for you.

Today, we're in the absolutely charming Highbury. The name just rolls off the tongue, doesn't it?

Imagine cobbled streets, bustling with cheery people and a hint of a Christmas glow even though it's January. Just gorgeous, isn't it? It felt so vintage the moment I arrived. Well, the vintage part was actually when I travelled by train. Nothing screams "fabulous trip" quite like the chugging of an old-fashioned train engine and a view that whips by. The vintage theme really suits the whole "old world charm" feel of this wonderful little spot.

Now, you all know that I simply adore anything and everything sparkly. So naturally, when I stepped onto the Highbury Green and saw the gorgeous street lights twinkling above, my little heart did a literal pirouette. It's those tiny touches that make it extra special!

This place is literally full of cute little cafes with teapots and pastries so scrumptious that you might just pop from the sugar rush, and quaint shops - there’s a fabulous vintage shop that I just had to stop at - so well dressed you could practically smell the lavender!

How it all started ...

Before I even stepped out to perform in Highbury (it's quite a large venue - but so stunning ), I took myself off for a spot of afternoon tea - such a British thing, darlings. We were all dressed to the nines at my little spot of afternoon tea. All dressed to the nines with my favourite hot pink tulle - no ordinary day at the tea room - I brought the tea room to life and a whole table full of young, beautiful ladies came rushing over to have photos. What lovely energy. I felt just like one of my darling little ballet pupils after a recital! So, if you're feeling the need for a pinch of that old-world charm, and a dose of afternoon tea delight, then look no further than the Highbury Green.

Just you wait for my latest outfit, it’s like a kaleidoscope of pink, fluffy tulle – oh you will just love it, darlings! And that is before the lights hit me, my goodness - just pure sparkle. I do love my life as a performer. I do - I think I even did a little skip as I sashayed towards my audience. My feet may hurt, but that twinkle, oh my darlings! That little sparkle inside my chest, now that's a real treat!

The Highbury performance...

I must confess to you, my darlings - and you're the only ones I'd tell this to, you understand? You've been there, you know - it happens, darling. It happened just before I began my Highbury show! Well, that happened as soon as I stepped onto the stage and was immediately blinded by all the lights, but then this - it’s something else!

A few minutes before taking to the stage, well darling - I was about to apply my final dab of glamourous blush ( oh yes, my darling, every bit a scientist, so a splash of colour and the perfect formula – and it doesn’t budge! And then... and then!

My favourite hot pink tutu had fallen to pieces, completely unravelled at the side. Yes, darlings. Unravelled. Right before I hit the stage. It was an absolute disaster! Oh darling - what was I going to do? What could I do but just breathe it out, you understand, and remind myself - darling, if you can sing that bit there, then you can absolutely put the tulle here. Always be prepared darling is what Mum used to say. And of course - she always is! Just my little lesson. A big pink one!

It felt just like the little me again, sitting in the ballet classroom in Derbyshire, my hometown - all pink and fluffy. That was my special place. Always remember - the ballet classroom, the classroom in which the magic really began!

How a tutu changes a world …

So I'm sitting there in the Highbury green room and you just know it - your little heart knows the very second the show's starting, darlings. And then I thought - what if that little science girl from Derbyshire went and found a gorgeous new tutu... you know, to put it on right before taking the stage and just have it flow - so beautifully... as I performed... I just knew the magic was going to work out for me, darlings! Well, it worked like a dream - oh bless - it did! Pure magic! That little moment!

The magic began before I even walked on the stage as soon as I pulled on the pink tulle and slipped into my glitter heels!
You can see why, my dears! The little things, you understand? Oh darling, I lived in Highbury for a few days. It is the perfect little corner of Britain for a magical escapade.

And a great, great reminder: always, always keep that magic inside of you alive. It is your heart's truth, isn’t it, that sparkle, that little dream inside? That sparkle is you, you understand. So, darling, go find a pink tutu, a sparkle to your day. And always keep the magic dancing.

Now, sashy, I simply must go - so many important people need a tutu hug!

See you soon, you lovelies. And don’t forget to join my pink community.

Love and glitter, Pink Tutu Sparkles.
