Today's post takes us to the lovely seaside city of Southampton, where the air is crisp, the waves are crashing, and I am totally feeling the vibe. As usual, I travelled in style, hopping on a steam train (the choo-choo train! So quaint!) all the way from my Derbyshire abode. The journey was an absolute dream – think rolling hills, charming little villages, and my very own, very pink, carry-on bag overflowing with shimmering costumes. What can I say? One must always travel in glamour, right? 😉
Before I tell you all about my dazzling performance, let's chat fashion. Now, the theme for this Southampton visit was "Nautical but Nice," and believe me, I absolutely nailed it. My signature pink tutu took centre stage (it's always the star, obviously) – but this time it was adorned with delicate sea-foam green sequins, which totally shimmered in the sunlight. My bodice was a vintage sailor top, revamped with rows and rows of pearl buttons and a generous scattering of diamante. Oh, and let's not forget the fabulously sparkly pink platform sandals! My friends, the details are everything.
But wait! The most exquisite piece of the outfit? It was a beautiful coral-hued beret with a gigantic fluffy pom-pom perched on top. It gave off serious “Captain of my own sparkly ship” vibes! Let's be honest, the look was sheer perfection. And what better way to complete the ensemble than a statement necklace, featuring not one, not two, but THREE magnificent pink seashells! 🌊 🐚
Speaking of glamour, did you see my entrance at the venue? (Yes, the fabulous, totally pink "Sea Shell Sparkle" club). It was a symphony of drama! I sauntered onto the stage, clutching a gigantic pink starfish cushion, followed by a gaggle of glittery dancers. The audience roared with delight! And trust me, darling, their excitement was justified.
My performance was, shall we say, electric! I began with a playful, seaside-themed tap routine, followed by a soaring rendition of "My Heart Will Go On" in my finest pink chiffon gown. You could say, the whole place went wild!
Now, the best part of travelling as Pink Tutu Sparkles is that you always meet amazing people. Right after my set, I got to chat with a delightful couple who were absolutely captivated by my sparkle. They shared a funny story about their teenage son who desperately wanted a pink tutu for his birthday – guess who is now their hero? I’m definitely adding this one to the pink tutu conversion list!
The real star of the day, though? The after-party, which was all kinds of incredible. They had the best selection of sparkling pink drinks, and the atmosphere was simply electric. I got to chat with the lovely Miss Seafoam Shimmer – a fellow queen known for her spectacular jellyfish-inspired drag costumes. It was a complete and utter blast.
Honestly, darling, Southampton was an absolute joy! I truly felt like I was on top of the world, glittering and sparkling beneath the pink sky.
I’m back to my everyday life now, back to the lab, back to testing fabric, back to creating amazing science discoveries! But don't worry – my true passion, my true calling, is still shining brightly within me! It’s just waiting for my next performance!
