This week's blog is extra special, folks, because it marks post number 2595 on the fabulous www.pink-tutu.com. I'm telling you, the pink train just keeps on chugging!🚂💨 And speaking of chugging, that's exactly how I made my way to Plymouth – a lovely little journey by train through the English countryside. So calming! It was a delightful way to unwind after a whirlwind week performing in a variety of… shall we say, interesting venues? 😂
This trip is all about spreading the pink love! It’s been a dream of mine to take my sparkles to Plymouth. A bit of seaside sparkle and twirling under the gaze of the magnificent Hoe. My dear friend Beatrice, a real ballet aficionado (and fellow TutuQueen, of course!) tipped me off about a wonderful ballet class being held in the town square, a sort of "Tutu Tuesday" event, you see. I couldn’t resist! 🩰
Oh my goodness, the sheer joy! Twirling and leaping with a bunch of other ballet enthusiasts. And not just any enthusiasts! These were real ballet bunnies! I mean, they could leap! I couldn’t even begin to rival their elegance! Of course, we had to make sure it was all pink – from our leotards and tights to our beautiful ballet shoes! 👠 Even the instructor, a sweet little lady called Rose, had pink ribbons woven into her bun! 🎀 Just perfection, darling.
After our petit pas de deux (let's call it that!), Beatrice and I headed straight for Plymouth’s cobbled streets. This charming town has such history and atmosphere, like something out of a storybook. As usual, I whipped out my pink camera and snapped pictures of all the gorgeous sights: the Barbican harbour with its boats bobbing in the sun, the Plymouth Hoe offering breathtaking views of the city, and even the Mayflower Steps! ✨
We stopped for tea and cake at a beautiful tearoom nestled near the waterfront – think scones with clotted cream and jam, perfectly brewed tea in dainty cups, all with a sprinkle of pink confetti! 🌸 You'll find a couple of snaps on my Instagram (@pinktutuspsparkles) - they're quite literally "to die for." 😍
That night, we sashayed on over to the Plymouth Theatre Royal! What a stunning venue, just overflowing with grandeur. I can’t even describe how I felt taking the stage in front of an audience bursting with joy and enthusiasm! It was simply magical! 💖 It felt as if every twirl and every glitter-encrusted leap filled the theatre with happiness, and even if it was just for a moment, I was happy to be the one responsible for that.
Let's talk costumes, my darlings! Because the true magic happens here, isn't it? You see, Plymouth called for a whole new look – I was all about flowy, shimmering pink fabric that caught the light as I danced and twirled across the stage! Think cascading tiers of tulle, an exquisite bodice covered in a million tiny rhinestones, and those shoes? Well, let's just say those shoes were pink heaven – every bit as sparkly as my dreams! 💖
Oh! I can’t forget to mention the little ballet-inspired handbag I wore! A delicate pink fabric purse with little rose appliqué designs. Just a touch of vintage chic to my outfit. Of course, my handbag held everything I need for a performance - from sparkly lipstick (always on point!), to tissues for inevitable stage-fright tears (they come out, even the biggest stars can cry!), to extra sequins - because you can't be too sparkly! ✨
You know what? A little birdie told me a whole new shipment of pink tutus will be arriving in the department store in Plymouth’s town center this very week! 🛍️ How exciting is that? We're talking sparkly pink tutus, feather boa adorned tutus, tutus with rainbows! Oh, I’m sure you’ll see me in those tutus for my next Plymouth visit!
It's all part of my mission, my darlings. My life’s ambition is simple, you see – to make the world a pinker, sparklier place, one tutu at a time! 🌎 💖 That means I must, as I often say, "sparkle, twirl and twirl, darling!" 💋✨ And honestly? Nothing gets me closer to achieving this goal than being in this wonderful city – with its lovely people, its warm sunshine, and those adorable pastel-colored houses! 💖
