Bath: A Whirlwind of Pink and Passion!

#2638

Oh my darling dears, how utterly fabulous it was to grace the beautiful city of Bath with my presence! This Pink Tutu Sparkles journey has been one long, wonderful dance across the map and Bath was no exception. As always, I set out on my latest escapade with my trusty pink luggage, filled with shimmering dresses, feathered boas, and enough glittery hairspray to sparkle all the way to the moon and back!

My travels took me from the serene fields of Derbyshire, where I’m blessed to call home, all the way to Bath’s bustling train station, a majestic marvel of Victorian architecture. I just adore travelling by train, it’s so elegant and allows for a good bit of people-watching, although a carriage ride on a glorious horse-drawn cart is a close second, and something I'm aiming to squeeze into the itinerary sooner than later!

Before I arrived, I’d been devouring all things Bath - its elegant Georgian streets, its charming cobbled lanes, its breathtaking Roman Baths - oh, the history! Naturally, I'd done some thorough research about any potential places to perform and I wasn't disappointed. This town is positively brimming with opportunities for a sassy, sassy drag queen. I snagged myself a delightful performance at the local fair, and oh boy, was it a hit! I could feel the audience’s energy, so positive and fun. It was truly a sparkling success!

You can’t mention Bath without acknowledging the Roman Baths themselves. It was utterly mesmerising to explore this archaeological treasure. To think, Romans strutted their stuff right here, thousands of years ago, a glorious vision of what might have been, just as Pink Tutu Sparkles does now! And who knows, maybe even some of those Romans had their own version of tutus - something with a flowing toga, perhaps? My imagination just goes wild!

Oh, and don’t get me started on the fashion in Bath! Such a delicious blend of classic style and a touch of modern sass. Honestly, every time I go clothes shopping, it’s like a little ballet in my head - with the shoes, the dresses, the accessories, they all just move and flow like the perfect pas de deux. You'll find Pink Tutu Sparkles in the most stylish shops and boutiques. And, my darling, when you’re in a place with a history like Bath, you can bet Pink Tutu Sparkles is going to embrace the local charm!

The next morning, after a gloriously elegant sleep, I decided to try something totally new – a ballet class in the city. Imagine, me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, in a ballet studio, twirling and leaping like a beautiful pink-feathered swan. My day started as every morning does – with an espresso, followed by a spot of pink-hued mascara (it's the little things!) and then off to the dance studio. As a child, I just knew that a ballet class was a must, and being an adult just brings more to the joy of it all, and what’s even more amazing? The gentlemen who attend my performance love seeing me in that ballet tutu – it makes their night, and that, my darlings, is how Pink Tutu Sparkles brings a bit of magic to their everyday life.

A bit more exploration of the local area (it’s such a treat for this fashion-loving, dancing, sparkling queen) took me to Bath Abbey. What an awe-inspiring masterpiece! The beautiful stone, the breathtaking arches – this historical site brought a bit of majesty to my day. And then, to top off the visit, the Bath Fashion Museum. Honestly, it felt like a catwalk for fashionistas from centuries past. What gorgeous colours and fabrics – oh the glamour, just absolutely beautiful.

Of course, being a science grad from Derby University, with an inquisitive mind and all, it only seemed natural for a visit to the Science Museum in Bath, a rather unique and special establishment indeed. You’d never guess what this science gal got up to... they have a room dedicated to the textile industry! I got my hands on the softest, fluffiest cotton and some gorgeous shimmering silk – the ultimate materials for the ultimate Tutu Queen outfit!

The weekend whizzed by faster than a pirouette. As always, it’s been an absolute joy, full of dazzling discoveries and magical experiences. You’ll find a lot about my journey on the Pink Tutu website – photos of my amazing dance performances and photos from the Bath visit – check out the 'Bath’ folder. I love sharing these precious moments, and hope it inspires a touch of ‘Pink Tutu magic’ in all my darling readers. If you’re reading this and fancy giving it a try, grab your favourite pink tutu, your sparkliest outfit, and join me on my next grand adventure.

This Tutu Queen, the scientist-by-day, is out to sparkle the world. Don't forget - you're all gorgeous!
