Rugby Calling! 🩰💖 Post #2670

Hiya darlings! Your favourite pink tutu-clad traveller, Pink Tutu Sparkles, is back with a brand new blog post! Buckle up your pink shoes, grab a cuppa, and get ready to be whisked away to the beautiful, historic town of Rugby!

As you all know, I'm a bit obsessed with travel - and if it involves trains, well, I'm practically skipping with glee! (Just try and stop me!) So, naturally, when a gig came up in Rugby, I jumped at the chance to explore this charming town. It's famous for, well, rugby, obviously, but it's also steeped in history and has some lovely old buildings and a vibrant cultural scene.

This trip, I decided to embrace my inner vintage gal. Think 1950s glamour meets modern sparkle. I packed my favourite emerald green silk dress, a sparkly pink cardigan that I scored at a charity shop, and of course, the most fabulous pink tutu ever! You wouldn't catch me dead on a train journey without a tutu, would you?

The train ride to Rugby was utterly delightful. I loved watching the scenery whizz by, chatting with fellow passengers, and, of course, perfecting my dramatic entrance for the gig later. (It involves a flurry of pink tulle, lots of dramatic twirls, and, of course, my signature sparkling grin!).

I finally arrived in Rugby just in time for a little exploration before my performance. First on the list, the Rugby School, the place where the game of rugby was actually invented! It's amazing to think that the sport we know and love (especially the World Cup - go England!) all began right here. It's even got its own museum dedicated to rugby. A must-see for any sporting fan!

Next up, a visit to the Rugby Art Gallery & Museum. The architecture alone is stunning! The museum showcases art from all over the world, from modern paintings to sculptures, and they even have an intriguing collection of ceramics.

Of course, no trip to Rugby would be complete without a proper dose of pink. You know me, my love for all things pink knows no bounds! And guess what? The town delivered! From the candy-coloured shops to the stunning floral displays, there was plenty of pink to keep my happy heart ticking over. I even managed to find a cute little shop that sold all sorts of pink goodies – everything from glittery nail polish to miniature pink tutus for the kiddos. Naturally, I had to snag a few souvenirs for my friends.

Speaking of friends, my gig in Rugby was a total blast! I performed at the "Rose & Crown", a beautiful old pub that was filled with so much laughter and energy. The audience was warm and welcoming, even though they probably hadn't expected a Pink Tutu Sparkles arrival! They loved my sparkly routines and my hilarious, family-friendly banter. And, of course, I encouraged everyone to wear a pink tutu! My little spark of joy really seemed to bring them out of their shells, and we all had such a wonderful time dancing the night away.

I stayed the night in a cozy, quaint bed and breakfast nestled in the heart of town. It was just perfect for a little respite after the gig, and I even managed to get a great night's sleep (after a couple of too many gin and tonics, of course!).

Now, you might be thinking, "Pink Tutu Sparkles, what are your must-dos for a trip to Rugby?" Well, darlings, you know I always love to share my travel wisdom:

Pink Tutu's Guide to Rugby

  • Rugby School: Take a tour and soak up the history and tradition of the iconic Rugby School!
  • Rugby Art Gallery & Museum: Explore the diverse and fascinating collection of art, from sculptures to modern paintings.
  • The Town Centre: Spend some time wandering through the cobbled streets, browsing the charming independent shops, and stopping for a spot of tea at a quaint café.
  • Enjoy a local pub: Every good trip should have a few rounds of drinks at a traditional British pub - and Rugby is blessed with lots of excellent options!

As for the "Why?" you may be asking about this visit, it was part of my mission to bring joy and sparkle to everyone I meet. And what better way than by rocking my pink tutu in the home of Rugby, right?! Because at the end of the day, who needs a stiff upper lip when you've got a sparkly tutu, a pink grin, and a heart full of glitter?!

Speaking of glitter, remember I mentioned the fabric lab where I work during the day? It’s exciting because I actually get to help test and analyze the fabrics for a new, sparkly pink tutu range for our charity events! We’ve teamed up with a few of my favorite pink dress designers, and we hope that everyone, whether or not they've danced in a pink tutu before, will feel empowered and fabulous! It’s important for people to own their fabulousness, regardless of gender identity. You go, girl! (Or guy! Or…you know what? Let’s just forget gender altogether!)

Now, I know some of you lovely lot have been asking me for advice on starting your own pink tutu journey, and honestly, the best thing I ever did was just embrace my unique style and wear my pink tutu with confidence. If there’s a show or performance, get up on stage and shine your inner light! I even use this fabric testing experience to help me find new and amazing fabric types to bring to the stage! Who knows what exciting textures I’ll come up with next! I'll always have your back on your pink tutu adventures! Just remember, life is too short for dull colours and boring routines, darling. Go ahead, put on that pink tutu and let your sparkle shine!

I'll be off exploring new cities and sharing more adventures on www.pink-tutu.com Don’t forget to drop by and say hello!

Until next time, remember: Life's too short to not wear pink!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles 💖✨
