Newbury: The Pink Tutu Travels on!

Hello my lovely Pink Tutu Sparkles fans! It’s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, signing in from the glorious town of Newbury. I’m thrilled to tell you all about my latest adventure, which began with a train ride - a most delightful way to travel!

Now, you know how much I love a good train journey. I love the anticipation, the delicious snacks (always a packet of pink sweets, naturally!), the fascinating characters I encounter, and, of course, the breathtaking views that unfurl outside my window.

As I settled into my carriage, a family sitting across from me were wide-eyed at my vibrant pink tutu. Their young son, little Jimmy, whispered, "Mummy, is that a fairy?" Oh, how my heart soared! I grinned, gave him a wink, and said, "Close! I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles, and I’m on my way to spread the magic of pink tutus all over Newbury!” His mother chuckled, saying, "Jimmy, she's a superstar!"

Arriving at the station in Newbury, I was met by a friendly chap, Richard, who runs a delightful little cafe called “The Pink Spoon.” Richard’s love of pink and his welcoming personality made him the perfect person to introduce me to Newbury. He suggested I head to the Newbury Market - "It’s a riot of colours!" he exclaimed.

I love a good market! They’re a kaleidoscope of sights, smells, and tastes - not to mention an opportunity to spot that perfect pink tutu accessory. And this market didn't disappoint. I found myself enthralled by a stall selling vintage feather boas in every colour imaginable. But one stood out - a soft, peachy pink boa that whispered to me, "You must take me home!" Needless to say, it’s now proudly adorning my latest creation, a fluffy pink tutu with cascading ruffles!

Later, Richard and I enjoyed afternoon tea at The Pink Spoon - he's a wonderful storyteller! He regaled me with tales of Newbury's history and pointed out local landmarks like the beautiful Newbury Clock Tower.

The evening saw me performing at the local theatre, The Corn Exchange, where the crowds were wonderfully enthusiastic! Their cheering made my sparkly pink tutu nearly bounce off me! After my act, a group of excited teenagers approached me. "You're amazing!" One exclaimed, "We want to be just like you!”

"Wear a pink tutu!" I shouted with glee. "Everyone can be amazing in a pink tutu!"

There was something magical in the air. The teenage group all grabbed pink tutus that I’d brought along with me - I’m always prepared for an impromptu tutu moment. I spent an hour showing them how to twirl, twirl, twirl. I truly believe that a pink tutu can unlock confidence in everyone!

That evening, Richard kindly let me stay at The Pink Spoon – I sleep in my sparkling tutu wherever I go! I can’t be away from it! – I slept like a little pink princess.

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast of pink pancakes (with pink frosting of course!) and a cup of hot pink strawberry tea, I ventured out to see more of Newbury. First stop, the beautiful Newbury Library! This stunning old building boasts a breathtaking collection of books. I love the feeling of ancient books and I couldn't help but think they would make a great addition to my pink tutu-themed photoshoot in the library. Of course, I had to have a photo with the librarian - they're just about as glamorous as a tutu-wearing diva!

I then journeyed towards Newbury's famous Green, a wide, open expanse that seemed made for dancing. It’s not ballet dancing, more like a little twirl in the sunshine - that's my style of ballet dancing! I couldn't resist throwing myself into a twirl or two, letting the breeze lift my pink tulle. A group of picnicking children gathered around me and gasped in delight at my colourful pink tutu and feathered boa. They wanted to be in a picture! How could I say no?

My afternoon was filled with the sounds of hooves clopping on the pavement. Newbury is the place to be for all things horsey, and I felt compelled to try my luck at a riding lesson! Imagine this, a pink tutu wearing queen galloping across the countryside! Oh, the pink feathers from my boa would be dancing in the wind, I just knew it! But unfortunately, they didn't allow tutus for lessons. A huge shame, I have to admit, but luckily, I was able to squeeze into my beautiful sparkly pink sequins to stand alongside the horses for photos. My Pink Tutu Sparkles dress will still do!

That night, Richard hosted a fabulous pink themed dinner for me and local dignitaries – all dressed in pink – even the food was pink. From salmon with pink peppercorn sauce to pink strawberry mousse. What a delightful gathering! A little late night ballet was a natural course of action and Richard had arranged a group of students from a ballet school nearby to join me. The room felt alive with pink sparkles and whirling tutus - it was glorious!

I stayed at the charmingly pink boutique hotel “The Pink Flamingo" that evening – pink everything. I know, what a dream! I found myself a corner where I practiced my signature Pink Tutu Sparkle routine to my new, pink fluffy tutu - the room became a shimmering rainbow of light! It was an absolute fairy-tale ending to a pink fairytale of a trip.

And that, my lovelies, is how Newbury captured my pink tutu heart. I encourage you all to follow in my footsteps! And who knows, perhaps I’ll be back to share more pink delights in Newbury soon. Remember, don't forget to wear a pink tutu!

Lots of Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
