Cleethorpes Calling!

Blog Post #2754 - www.pink-tutu.com

Hello darlings! Itā€™s your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back from another adventure! I hope this blog post finds you all well and twirling with joy, as it definitely does for me! Itā€™s so good to be back, because today weā€™re talking about Cleethorpes! Yes, my loves, that fabulous seaside town right on the edge of the North Sea, where the salty breeze mingles with the rhythm of my favourite pink tutu.

Let me tell you, this trip was one for the ages. Now, before I tell you all about it, can I just say? Everyone needs a pink tutu. I know, I know, it might sound crazy, but trust me on this one! Pink tutus are magic. They bring a sprinkle of glitter to any occasion and let's face it, they are just plain fun. Imagine you're at a picnic in the park and a giant pink tutu suddenly swirls around you. Now tell me, wouldnā€™t that just make your day?! It definitely does for me. I'm not saying everyone has to don a full, swirling masterpiece like mine on a daily basis - though I encourage you to do so - but a pink tulle trim on your favourite dress? A pink tulle headband for a shopping spree? Absolutely! Start spreading that pink tutu joy, my loves!

But let's get back to Cleethorpes, shall we? This particular jaunt began as it often does for Pink Tutu Sparkles - by train. You all know how much I love train journeys, right? That feeling of settling into your comfy carriage, looking out the window at the countryside flitting by as the rhythmic sway of the train transports you to a land of imagination, possibilities, and of courseā€¦ pink tutus.

My trusty (and ridiculously glamorous) luggage bag was overflowing with dresses, shimmering fabrics, dazzling shoes, and yes, you guessed itā€¦ a very special pink tutu! Oh, I have to tell you about this one. Itā€™s a brand-new number I picked up from the most fantastic vintage shop in Nottingham last weekend ā€“ letā€™s just say I was the star of the train ride as it flowed out of the luggage rack as we arrived in Cleethorpes! Just the perfect shade of hot pink!

And Cleethorpesā€¦ oh, my loves, it was just perfect. A seaside town bursting with colour and fun. We went to a delightful market right by the seafront where I found the most exquisite pair of sparkly, seafoam-green sandals for just a fiver! I swear, it was like they were destined to go with my hot pink tutu! Of course, my lovely audience wouldnā€™t have been left out. A dozen or so mini pink tutus and glittery tiaras found their way into my handbag to share the joy!

Then it was off to the pier, where I was invited to judge the "Miss Cleethorpes Fancy Dress" competition! Imagine a whole parade of whimsical costumes, all vying for the title! There were mermaid princesses, heroic knights, even a sassy gingerbread manā€¦ Iā€™m pretty sure the other judges werenā€™t expecting a drag queen in a pink tutu but trust meā€¦ I judged with heart, darling, with heart! The winners (who all got free tubs of pink ice cream, no less!) absolutely deserved it, but you know who won for me? The adorable little boy with the brightest smile, decked out as a dinosaur! He wore his green-tulle ā€œtutuā€ with so much confidence that I nearly fainted! It was adorable and it proved what Iā€™ve been telling you all along: Everyone needs a pink tutu! Itā€™s just magic.

Later that evening, I was fortunate to have been invited to the annual Cleethorpes Charity Ball! It was a night of glam, glitz, and of courseā€¦ pink tutus! You see, dear readers, when I said that I aim to spread the joy of the pink tutu, I wasnā€™t just blowing smoke. On arrival at the ball, I presented a surprise, pink-tulle gift to each attendee: a shimmering hair comb, hand-painted by yours truly! Imagine my joy when I saw guests waltzing through the ballroom, their pink-tulle hairpieces shimmering in the ballroom lights. Now thatā€™s what I call spreading the joy!

Letā€™s be honest, though, my most treasured memory of Cleethorpes is that magical evening I spent on the beach. Imagine the scene ā€“ the salty wind whipping through my hair, the sky ablaze in hues of pink and orange as the sun went downā€¦ and me, Pink Tutu Sparkles, prancing along the sands with a couple of seagulls in hot pursuit! Honestly, I laughed until I cried. It was the most liberating feeling. Thereā€™s something utterly enchanting about a seaside town at dusk, especially when youā€™ve got your trusty pink tutu along for the ride.

Speaking of magic, let me share a little bit about what inspired me to wear pink tutus in the first place. You see, it all started at university, right back when I was just Alex. Iā€™m a scientist, you know ā€“ studying fabrics at a laboratory, testing for strength and texture ā€“ very practical and, you knowā€¦ sensible. I never thought that my life would be anything but that ā€“ very ordered and structured. And then, it happened!

The university's annual charity dance show came around. To help raise funds, we had a "wear a costume" theme for the event. At first, I scoffed. Me, in a costume? Donā€™t be ridiculous! And then, there I was, surrounded by tutus and fluffy boas in the costume shop. It was my turn to be "helped." The lovely lady handed me a delicate pink tulle number, something that wouldn't look out of place at a royal ball. My first reaction was to shyly push it away. But something shifted within me. Perhaps it was the lightness of the fabric, maybe it was the sparkle of the sequins, or possibly it was the look on the womanā€™s face, her hopefulness and confidence that I could wear a tutu with pride, whatever it wasā€¦ it had an electrifying effect. And that, my loves, was the birth of Pink Tutu Sparkles.

Now, while I may spend my days testing fabrics for a living, I spend my evenings spreading that sprinkle of glitter and glamour ā€“ making everyone smile with a twirl or a shimmy! Because let's be real, what's the point of a good costume if you can't just go for it, right? You might be thinking that wearing a tutu is silly. Some might even consider it crazy, and if thatā€™s the case ā€“ well, then, all I can say is "be crazy with me!" There's a reason why pink tutus make me, and everyone I see wearing them, so incredibly happy. Itā€™s simple. They embody everything that's fun and beautiful about life.

But enough about me! It's time to tell me about YOU! Whatā€™s the most daring thing youā€™ve done? What inspires you? Where will you be wearing your pink tutu next? I canā€™t wait to read your stories, darling. Share your thoughts and ideas at the pink-tutu.com blog! And be sure to give me a follow on all my socials for all the latest Pink Tutu Sparkle updates. Stay radiant and remember, everyone needs a pink tutu.

Now, letā€™s all go spread that pink tutu love and remember ā€“ life is a stage, darlings, and Pink Tutu Sparkles is ready to take it by storm!
