Hello darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with another fabulous update from the world of pink and glitter! Today's post is extra special, because I'm not just dazzling the internet with my digital presence, I'm actually in a real place! And what a place! I'm in the charming town of Borehamwood, folks, ready to sprinkle some sparkles on this lovely bit of Hertfordshire! 💅

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Pink Tutu, why Borehamwood?" Well, my sweet peaches, this town has a special place in my heart. It's practically the ballet capital of the universe! The lovely folks here have a fabulous theatre, The Venue, and just about everyone and their mother seems to love dancing, too. It's like they all share my passion for swirling around in tutus, only they do it in leotards! 🩰
I was lucky enough to snag a performance slot at The Venue earlier this week, and oh my, you'll not believe the turnout! I had the whole theatre rocking to my '80s-themed pop-ballad medley! And I wasn't just throwing down the sparkly gauntlet, honey. I had my entire entourage in tow: Miss Bubbles the bunny (my fluffy, pink sidekick, naturally), two sparkly back-up dancers, and my ever-so-helpful stage manager (who, I have to admit, is secretly obsessed with the ballet! She always has a pair of tights in her purse). 😅
But this isn't just about the performances, though those are certainly spectacular. No, this is about the whole experience. Borehamwood just feels fabulous! You can practically taste the pink in the air! 💕 It’s an air that I just can't resist! 😉 I even found this divine vintage tutu shop - "Twinkle Toes" - while I was shopping on the high street. You should have seen my face! It was like finding a sparkly treasure trove! And wouldn’t you know it, I left with a vintage sequined tutu from the ‘80s, in the most delightful shade of bubblegum pink. Imagine how amazing it looked under the stage lights at my performance! 💫
Of course, no Pink Tutu trip would be complete without a bit of sightseeing! And believe me, Borehamwood didn't disappoint! The Warner Bros. Studio Tour was pure magic! I practically cried happy tears when I saw the Hogwarts Express up close and personal! They had these enchanting life-sized sets from the films – honestly, I felt like I'd stepped into a storybook! ✨
But as you know, darling, my heart belongs to ballet, and there's a reason this town is a ballet hub! This weekend, I’m hitting up a ballet performance at The Venue. I mean, a ballerina who's wearing pink tutus just has to visit a ballet! Honestly, I can't wait! The program is set to be exquisite! There will be so much dramatic arm work and leaps across the stage…and yes, it's entirely possible I'll be tearing up when I see the Swan Lake dance – don't worry, I’ll keep those pink sparkly tears to myself! 🤫
Now, about how I ended up in this fairytale wonderland. You'll never guess! Well, unless you've been following my adventures for the past 2,773 posts. 😉 That's right, folks, this traveling drag queen got here via train! That's right! I traveled in style and took the picturesque scenic route through the Derbyshire countryside – don’t tell anyone but my heart skipped a beat when we passed by a paddock full of adorable fluffy Shetland ponies – they would have looked absolutely adorable in pink tutus, don’t you think?! 💖
This train trip, by the way, reminded me how much I love getting around in Britain! It’s so exciting – I often see such glamorous scenery on my travels… Honestly, all the stunning greenery just screams “sparkles and glitter” to me! 🥰
Speaking of sparkles and glitter, let's not forget my daily life as a scientist! 👩🔬 My other job is in a lab, where I spend my days testing fabric. That's right, darling! This fabulous pink-loving, tutu-wearing drag queen helps decide what fabric goes on clothes that the world will wear! Talk about making a statement, eh? 👠 But you can bet, every time I pass a sample of sequined fabric in the lab, my inner-sparkle starts to go a little crazy! 😉
