Darlings, how do you do! The Tutu Queen is back with a bang, or rather a twirl! Yes, darling, this fabulous creature has flitted back to the land of living (well, sort of… you know how we draq queens live on an entirely different plane!), after a whirlwind week of dazzling audiences in the heart of Derbyshire. But enough about me! We’re not here to talk about my fabulously glamorous outfits… well, maybe just a little. 😉
It’s All About Earley!
This week, darlings, I’ve landed in the beautiful little town of Earley. If you’ve ever visited the sunny south-east of England, then Earley should be on your bucket list! A stone’s throw from Reading (which I might add, is fab for a tutu-wearing queen), Earley has the most delightful blend of historic charm and modern bustle. But I’m telling you, nothing beats the sheer joy of taking a long stroll around the green, open spaces. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
A Pink Tutu Queen's Journey to Earley
Oh darling, how do you even begin to describe this fabulous journey? I boarded the train at Derby, that most picturesque of stations. Of course, my arrival had to be dramatic, don't you think? It all started with a delicate wave of my sparkly pink fan. Next came my pièce de résistance, a full pirouette as the train pulled out. (I may have been the talk of the carriage! 🤣 ) It was pure joy, like a scene right out of my favourite ballerina’s book, Swan Lake, of course.
And you know me, darlings, always up for an adventure. This week, I had the most marvelous opportunity. Imagine, darling, a trip by horse and cart! It was like something out of a Jane Austen novel, complete with beautiful horses, tinkling bells, and the scent of fresh hay. A real touch of whimsy! I even had a chance to wear my brand new, blush pink straw hat. The epitome of feminine elegance!
The Big Event!
Now, about the big reveal! Yes, darling, I performed at the most magnificent festival in Earley – the Earley Community Carnival! Imagine, thousands of joyous faces, laughter, music, and a parade of dazzling colours. I mean, what could be more exhilarating than strutting my stuff in my Pink Tutu Sparkles persona, captivating a crowd with my signature twirls and dance moves. Oh, the joy, darling, the pure unadulterated joy of being a drag queen!
It was the perfect moment to debut my newest custom-made pink tutu. I mean, you know the feeling when a perfectly tailored, beautifully crafted garment embraces your body like a warm, welcoming embrace. Just heavenly, darling! Of course, it shimmered like a million stars. Trust me, darling, it was an absolute spectacle! My outfit, darlings? Well, let’s just say it was "all pink, everything" with a sprinkle of sparkle to add that extra bit of magic! After all, the more sparkles, the better! 💖✨
Let’s Get Those Tututus Flying!
As the queen of pink tutus, it wouldn't be fair to leave without encouraging all my darlings to embrace the joy and beauty of the tutu. I joined the university ballet club, not knowing what to expect. But, oh darling, the first time I donned a tutu? Pure magic. It wasn't even a pink tutu back then, it was just a simple, classic white one. But, oh darling, the moment I twirled, a certain joy bubbled inside me that just didn't go away.
Then came the moment that sparked the revolution. It was for a charity event and my university ballet club was selling secondhand tutus.
