Farnworth, Here I Come!

Hello darlings! It's your girl, Pink Tutu Sparkles, back with you, bright and sparkly, for another exciting blog post! You guys know how much I adore travelling. It's so fabulous to be able to take my pink tutu all over the country, sharing the magic with everyone. I always tell you, spreading the pink tutu love is my life's work! And let me tell you, travelling by train always makes it feel extra special, so let's go for a spin around the countryside with me, shall we? This is post number 2820, you can find it on www.pink-tutu.com - make sure you check out my other posts too! I'm not only posting to my lovely readers but sharing my joy and style across all the socials, find me on Instagram and Twitter as @PinkTutuSparkle.

So today we're off to Farnworth, lovely place, full of culture and a proper friendly vibe. I absolutely canā€™t wait to get there and feel the energy of this fantastic place.

Now, let me tell you, preparing for this trip has been a bit of a whirlwind, but that's what happens when you're a fashion-forward drag queen on the go. This trip is calling for a fabulously fun look, so you can bet I'm pulling out all the stops. I'm going for a vintage glam style, think 1950s chic, a splash of a cheeky glitter and, of course, a fabulous, feather-trimmed pink tutu. Oh darling, I've just bought this divine fuchsia feather boa, you have to see it! The colour is practically glowing!

I canā€™t tell you how much I love finding new pink tutus to wear. Itā€™s not always easy finding one that is the perfect combination of the right length, sparkle, layers, and that oh-so-important bouncy feeling. It takes me back to that moment when I discovered the magic of the pink tutu, it was all thanks to that brilliant fundraising ballet for a children's charity, I popped it on in the middle of the rehearsal and it felt just right. Pink has been my favourite colour for ages, I have all these vivid childhood memories of bubblegum pink, sugary candy floss, and bright pink balloons - itā€™s the perfect hue! And I tell you, after I performed in that charity show wearing the pink tutu, it sparked this passion. By the way, those of you who know me know that by day, Iā€™m actually a fabric scientist. I work at the University, but I love that I have these two totally different worlds to dip in and out of! And really, can we just appreciate the incredible fact that my day job actually gives me inspiration for my amazing stage looks. I get to play around with textiles and materials all day long, but after work, I put on the Pink Tutu Sparkles costume and dance my heart out! Itā€™s a dream life.

Getting back to my Farnworth journey, I love catching the train, watching the world zip by - sometimes I find Iā€™m staring out of the window thinking about how lucky I am to do this, how incredible this job is and to think, it all started that night with a pink tutu! My very first drag name was Twinkle Toes. I loved my ballet shoes, even more than I love heels, I was quite the prima ballerina at school! But then it just seemed that ā€œTwinkle Toes" had been done by other queens! I had to find a name that reflected who I am - pink tutu obsessed, a love of theatre, fabulous outfits, lots of sparkly make-up and an outlandish desire to share the pink tutu love with the world! Thatā€™s how "Pink Tutu Sparkles" came about.

And talking about sparkleā€¦ oh my goodness, donā€™t even get me started about my new bag - a pink sequins and feather number that just screams ā€˜night outā€™! I'm all about coordinating my accessories, right down to the glitter in my lipstick. Itā€™s all part of the experience and how my fans know that the queen has arrived!

When it comes to my performances, I love getting the crowd going with those feel good vibes! You guys know that dancing is my happy place, so I always throw in some high-energy routines. Think disco fever meets modern dance with a healthy dose of glitz and glam! I always say the key to a good performance is connecting with your audience, and letā€™s just say itā€™s contagious.

After my Farnworth gig, I'm thinking of taking a ballet class - you see I am always trying to up my ballet game. It is all part of the ā€œgetting fitter, feeling fabā€ mantra of a drag queen, so if anyoneā€™s up for a little twirling in Farnworth, Iā€™m up for it. But before I start dancing in the streets, I have to tell you about my new pink ballet flatsā€¦ I spotted them in this lovely boutique in Derbyshire last week. You see Iā€™m from there, a real home county girl. The shop owner even said I had to try them on - it was like a fairy tale. Of course, I couldnā€™t resist a bit of twirling in my new pink flats! Now, that brings us to another love of mine - the beautiful English countryside. One of my ultimate dream trips is to go on a holiday across the British countryside on a horse and cart! I could do all the glamorous country style shows, it would be just wonderful! And it might even give me a chance to do some horse-back riding, too, imagine that ā€“ Pink Tutu Sparkles on a white charger, a magnificent sight indeed!

So that's it for now my darling friends! Until next time! Donā€™t forget to wear your pink tutu!

Stay glamorous! XOXO
