It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, reporting live from the utterly delightful town of Bournville, a place I must confess was previously unknown to me. But like a sweet pink feather, fate guided me here.

Bournville is one of those quintessential British towns, you know, full of character and charm, like a perfectly worn-in ballet slipper. I got here on the train, which is a real highlight of any trip. There’s something so wonderfully nostalgic and freeing about travelling by rail – especially in a chic, pink tulle dress that makes every station a fashion runway. 😉
Anyway, before I forget, the reason for this visit: Bournville has an amazing ballet school, tucked away like a secret fairy godmother's haven. Let's just say I couldn't resist a chance to drop in and show off my twirls! I mean, when was the last time you got to twirl in a pristine white tutu under the watchful eye of a true ballerina? I even did a little pirouette for a giggling group of primary school children. Now those are the best kind of compliments! 🥰
But first, we had to visit the chocolate factory! As a tutu-tastic foodie, I could not possibly miss out on Cadbury World. Imagine: the scent of chocolate filling the air, surrounded by delightful sweets, the taste of a creme egg... just utter bliss. And yes, I definitely wore my tutu for this treat – chocolate is even more scrumptious with a little bit of sparkly pink magic, don’t you agree?
Speaking of sparkles, you wouldn’t believe the glorious costume shop I stumbled upon. It's called "Glitter and Glamour," and my heart just did a triple pirouette! It was an explosion of feathers, sequins, and velvet – like a pink princess's dream. I found myself completely lost in the beautiful chaos, surrounded by sequins that shimmered like galaxies. Oh, and guess what? They had the most magnificent, oversized pink tulle skirt that practically begged to be worn. (Spoiler: it is now part of my personal wardrobe, darling!).
After all the retail therapy, it was time for some serious tea and cake. Nothing makes a diva like myself feel truly glamorous than a proper afternoon tea. Imagine, delicate sandwiches, fluffy scones with clotted cream, and perfectly brewed tea, all served on fine china, with a backdrop of quaint, brick buildings and verdant gardens. You know what? This kind of genteel perfection simply deserves a pink tutu. It wouldn’t be a day out with Pink Tutu Sparkles without it, darling.
My day in Bournville was packed with deliciousness – literally, since I probably sampled about five different kinds of chocolate! It’s the kind of town where you could easily get lost in the charm, wander down narrow streets, and discover hidden gems like that vintage clothing shop where I found a dazzling red sequined top that's just begging for its debut on my next stage.
As a drag artist, I'm always on the lookout for new places to perform. And this little town definitely feels like the kind of place where you can just let your tutu-tastic freak flag fly. Imagine: a pink, shimmering dream flitting across a charming village square, under a canopy of sparkling lights. You can just see me, performing for a giggling crowd of delighted locals! Who knows, maybe someday, Bournville will be graced with the divine presence of Pink Tutu Sparkles!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to practice my 'grand jeté'. I’m not quite sure if there’s a local stage available yet, but that won’t stop Pink Tutu Sparkles! We might just have to create our own performance space in this adorable town, because darling, when there’s a pink tutu involved, anything is possible! 💖🩰✨
