Coulsdon Calling! - A Tutu-tastic Adventure

Pink Tutu Sparkles here, your favourite pink-tastic drag queen, bringing you daily blog updates from all corners of the glamorous globe! It’s day 2827, my dears, and we’re taking the train to Coulsdon! You know I love a good railway adventure, and what better way to embrace the scenic British countryside than on a steam train, hair perfectly coiffed and tutu flowing in the breeze?

Coulsdon is a little town nestled in Surrey, known for its beautiful countryside and the majestic Croydon Airport (well, okay, perhaps not so majestic). But who cares! It’s all about the journey, and this is where things get truly fabulous!

Before we get to Coulsdon, let’s chat a bit about my new collection of tutus, shall we? Pink Tutu Sparkles would be nothing without the sparkle in my tutu. This week’s favourite, acquired on a fabulous shopping trip to the city (that’s London to you, darling!), features an abundance of hot pink, silver sequin embellishment, and a cloud of fluffy tulle. Absolutely divine, right? My lovely friend and talented milliner, Bubbles, added a beautiful pink feathered boa and matching hairpiece - the perfect finishing touch for my show-stopping entry at the Coulsdon Community Centre.

My travels to Coulsdon weren't purely for pleasure, no darling, they were a divine mixture of pleasure and purpose. Tonight, I'm performing at the Coulsdon Village Fete. Picture this: the aroma of barbecued sausages, the clinking of beer glasses, a gentle breeze blowing, and yours truly strutting my stuff, tutu in full glory, performing my latest dance routine, a jazzy interpretation of "Dancing Queen." Can you say, showstopper?

I must admit, my life is an intriguing combination of science and sparkle. By day, you'll find me at the laboratory, immersed in fabric technology. It might not be as dazzling as performing on stage, but you’d be surprised how much you need a scientist to perfect your pink tulle, you know! Then, when the clock strikes evening, the laboratory is replaced with a glittering stage, a dazzling audience, and the infectious rhythm of a pulsating heartbeat... that’s my kind of transformation, my dears!

The train journey was absolutely dreamy! The swaying landscape painted beautiful landscapes against the azure sky, while my favourite jazz album spun tunes in my headphones. I indulged in a steaming cup of tea and a delicious scone from the onboard buffet cart. You know me, all that glitz requires proper sustenance! And a bit of light reading, of course, as any respectable diva knows the importance of being up on current affairs – a must for keeping my vocabulary vibrant and my insights sparkling.

Upon arriving in Coulsdon, I found a town brimming with delightful little boutiques and tea rooms, perfect for discovering the local delights. I made a quick stop at a charming gift shop, and snagged the perfect memento: a handmade pink porcelain unicorn. Now, that's a keepsake that truly embodies the spirit of Pink Tutu Sparkles!

And then, it was off to the Community Centre. The stage, albeit modest in size, is the ultimate platform for an aspiring performer, like myself. It’s always a thrilling experience to take the stage in a new town, bringing a bit of glitz and glamour to their lives, a touch of the Pink Tutu magic that makes me feel so alive!

Coulsdon, you were absolutely lovely! Your welcoming hearts and kind smiles filled my heart with warmth. Thank you for making this little diva feel so special.

To my dear followers, the adventure doesn't stop here! I’m off to Kent next week, ready to explore, to charm, and, of course, to spread the word about the power of the pink tutu!
