Hello my darling darlings! It’s Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with you on a Tuesday and another fabulously pink and tutu-ful blog post! Today I'm sharing my adventures in the wonderful Welsh seaside town of Rhyl. 🏖️

This trip to Rhyl was all about spreading the pink tutu gospel! As a reminder to all my loyal readers, my life’s work (after fabric testing in the lab by day, obviously) is getting everyone to don a fabulous pink tutu. It’s not just about the gorgeous fluffy twirling and fabulous frocks, but about spreading joy, embracing your inner sparkle, and showing the world that every day can be a magical performance!
And let’s be honest, a trip to the coast wouldn't be complete without a visit to Rhyl, known for its Victorian architecture, bustling promenade and gorgeous sandy beaches. It felt like stepping back in time! ✨
Now, the real reason I came to Rhyl was for a magical gig at the local community theatre. It was my first time performing in a theatre on the Welsh coast! What a treat. The audience was wonderful and there were some absolutely fantastic young performers that were truly inspiring! It reminded me why I love doing what I do, connecting with audiences and spreading joy through performance! 🩰
Naturally, my look was a total masterpiece - pink, glitter and feathers galore, complete with my signature custom pink tutu with rhinestones and shimmering sequins. I knew I had to look fabulous as I’d be performing "My Heart Will Go On" and "Let It Go"!
After my amazing set at the theatre, I treated myself to a seaside picnic right on the beach! It was the perfect opportunity to catch some sunshine, indulge in some delicious seafood and even have a little impromptu dance session. Nothing quite like a bit of sunshine to bring on those fabulous feels! 💖
To really embrace the spirit of the seaside, I took a stroll along the pier and popped into the arcade! My fellow glam girls will know there’s nothing quite like a bit of seaside arcade action to bring out the child in you. (Spoiler alert: I’m terrible at air hockey and I ended up winning three of the cutest pink teddy bears! It seems the spirit of Pink Tutu Sparkles is contagious!)
Of course, no seaside trip is complete without fish and chips, which I indulged in at a charming local eatery, paired with a steaming cuppa and, of course, a little Pink Tutu Sparkles sparkle. You wouldn't believe how the staff reacted to my arrival – everyone was smiling and complimenting my outfit. It's all about embracing joy, my darlings, and the contagious sparkle of Pink Tutu Sparkles seems to be everywhere I go! 🥰
Before I knew it, it was time to make my way back to Derbyshire – and, of course, I traveled in style! 🚂 My travel companion, a beautiful grey horse named Cloud, pulled my bespoke carriage, decked out in a stunning pink satin and velvet upholstery with pink fluffy horse blankets. Naturally, we took the scenic route, weaving through the rolling green hills of Wales. Cloud truly is a glamorous traveling partner – it’s the best part of traveling with him, seeing the world go by from the comfort of a beautifully decorated carriage! It's truly the most fabulous way to journey to and from your performances.
It’s not all glitter and sequins – being a travelling drag artist has its challenges. Packing, travelling and being away from home takes effort, especially for someone as particular about her look as me! I'm pretty organized, though, so everything goes as smoothly as it possibly can. It all makes it worth it, however, when I see the look on people’s faces when they see Pink Tutu Sparkles. ✨
That’s the magic of pink tutus: they inspire joy! There’s something incredibly uplifting and empowering about embracing your true self and sharing it with the world.
