I'm buzzing to be in the stunning city of Carlisle, perched right on the edge of the Lake District, and let me tell you, the Cumbrian air has got me twirling with excitement! This is my blog post number 2921 for those of you keeping count at home, and I just know it's going to be a sparkly gem! 💖
Now, if you’ve been following my blog for a while you’ll know I’m not a fan of aeroplanes - too much turbulence, too much hustle, too much chance of a delay. Not me, no, darling, I’m a girl who likes to travel in style! This trip I'm taking the train – yes, a majestic journey through the rolling hills, passing quaint villages and soaring scenery! I packed my fluffy pink dressing gown, my favourite travel set of pink hair-styling tools, and, of course, my emergency supply of glitter! No adventure can start without a little sparkle, can it? ✨
I'm here in Carlisle to share a little pink tutu magic with the folks of this fabulous town! You see, I’ve been booked to do a fabulous set at a little community centre near the river - it’s perfect for twirling in, and the audience there just love a bit of theatrical fun! I’ll be belting out some show tunes, shimmying in a specially-made tutu featuring all sorts of glittering pink sequins, and of course, showering everyone with my signature pink sparkle! Because I firmly believe the world needs a little more glitter, a little more twirl, and a whole lot of pink! 😉
I'm absolutely obsessed with Carlisle! This town oozes charm - charming streets lined with shops, charming pubs with crackling fireplaces, and most importantly, charming people! I met a darling little boy at the market earlier who told me all about his love for ballet. I had to show him my amazing pink tutu - it's the one I wore to the Royal Opera House in London last year! Now, this little guy told me he wants to become a ballet dancer when he grows up. I told him: ‘Go for it, sweetie! Never let anyone tell you you can’t achieve your dreams, even if those dreams are made of feathers, sequins and pink!’ He looked at me with the most brilliant sparkle in his eyes – just the sort of sparkle we all need! 🌟
There’s so much to see in Carlisle! I’m off tomorrow to explore the legendary Hadrian’s Wall – what a grand piece of history that is, darling! A whole wall dedicated to keeping the Romans and the Picts apart – imagine, a wall made of pure pink stone, how fab would that be? Oh, it’s such a magnificent piece of the world that will be perfect for a few stunning photographs of me twirling my tutu in front of the Wall! I can just see it now, a beautiful vision in pink against the vast and ancient backdrop! 🏛️
But it’s not just about the history, Carlisle has so much character! The old churches with their towers, the Victorian markets overflowing with beautiful trinkets – it's like a fairy tale in the making! It reminds me a bit of my home town in Derbyshire, though it’s much, much bigger! But wherever I go, you can always count on seeing my pink tutu fluttering around.
Of course, no trip to Carlisle would be complete without a visit to the lovely Theatre By The Lake – it's simply gorgeous! You know I love me a good ballet performance! I’ve even tried to incorporate a few ballet steps into my performances – sometimes I manage it with graceful style, sometimes... well, sometimes, I trip over the feathers on my tutu! 😂 But hey, it's all part of the fun!
Speaking of fun, my darling, my favourite thing about performing is seeing people smiling. Especially when they come up to me afterwards with happy faces and tell me that my shows brought a little bit of sunshine and sparkle into their day! And honestly, seeing their joy just makes me want to twirl and dance even more! 💕
Now, you know I love shopping! I've already managed to find the most fabulous pink lace shawl for my collection and a few glittering brooches. I couldn’t resist, it would have been simply rude to leave them there! I'm planning a day trip to Penrith later this week - that's the place to go for truly lovely vintage clothes! And when it comes to tutus, darling, the possibilities are endless. And, my dear blog-followers, you can join me in my mission to make the world a pinker, twirlier, more sparkly place - why not try on a pink tutu today?
