A Trip To The North
Now, Iām a gal who loves to travel, but something about Yorkshire calls to me. Maybe itās the rolling hills, or perhaps the sheer rugged charm of the peopleā¦ But whatever it is, I couldnāt wait to make my way to Castleford. This beautiful town in West Yorkshire is the home of so much history and charm ā just the kind of place a Tutu Queen can really sparkle.
The Journey North: Horses, Trains, and Pink!
Let's face it, a true Queen never flies. Not when youāve got horse-drawn carriages and grand old trains, eh? Itās all about the adventure, darling, not the destination. My trusty steeds took me to the train station (you know I love a bit of horse-drawn glamour), and from there I took the grand train up north. And by grand, I mean pink of course! Yes, I might have āaccidentallyā booked the āFirst Class Pink Expressā, a very special carriage with luxurious velvet seatingā¦ and it just so happened to be a shade of pink that would make a flamingo jealous. It really did add a little bit of sparkle to the journey, donāt you think?
From Laboratory To Stage!
Did I tell you about my life as a scientist by day, Tutu Queen by night? Oh, you must love this! Itās like a little sprinkle of magic! It's a busy life, darting from a lab testing new fabric formulas to dazzling audiences in Castleford! Sometimes I canāt believe itās all happening, but here we are! Youād be surprised how much those late nights perfecting a sequin design translate to finding new textures for that super-soft cashmere Iām helping to develop, you know! My alter ego, Alex, works tirelessly to create beautiful fabrics ā and me? Well, I use all my fabulous skills to spread the pink tutu gospel!
Finding the Perfect Performance Venue
One of my favourite things about touring as a Drag Artist is the sheer diversity of performance spaces. Iāve graced stages at fairgrounds, stately homes, and even an aquarium once! Itās about connecting with people and sharing joy, and who needs a fancy stage when you have a dazzling personality, right? In Castleford, I found the most delightful pub with a tiny little stage and the most enthusiastic bar staff you can imagine! Oh, it was absolutely packed to the brim. They had a few Pinktini cocktails (a signature concoction of mine, naturally) waiting for me backstage, and the sound of āLetās Hear it For Pink Tutu Sparkles!ā echoed throughout the pub ā just magical!
Tutus for All! The Spread of Pinkitude
So, we had a spectacular evening. I did all my favorite moves ā the grand jetĆ©, the arabesque, you name it, darling! But hereās the thing: the audience loved it so much, I had to do an extra encoreā¦and this was my favourite moment: one little girl was just captivated by the whole thing! She was mesmerized. So much so that she hopped off her stool and onto the little stage to perform her own graceful pirouette right alongside me. That was a moment! Oh, how she made my day. You know my ultimate goal is to inspire people to embrace the power of pink. This little girl was proof that the Pink Tutu message was being heard loud and clear.
Fashion Fun and Fab in Castleford
Now, if youāre a Tutu Queen like me, youāve got to indulge in some good shopping! And Castleford delivered! First stop was the sweetest little vintage shop with a rack of glorious pink, shimmering vintage clothes ā I nearly cried with delight! And of course, I had to try them all on, you know! Itās a privilege to be a fashion queen, Iāve found! From there, it was off to the local market. Itās a delight to browse these markets. I can always find little sparkly accessories and the most wonderful hand-knitted hats that would look fantastic with my pinkest tutu ā oh, I am bursting with ideas for my new autumn look already!
A Fond Farewell
Well, darlings, thatās a wrap on Castleford! What a magical trip, full of adventure, laughter, and (of course) the prettiest shade of pink imaginable. I must tell you, this little town has a place in my heart now! As I made my way home by horse, a light rain was falling, but all I could think about was the little girl dancing alongside me on that stage, the glow of pink, the happy laughter of the crowd, and the undeniable beauty of spreading joy with my own unique sparkle.
