Morley, darling! Post #2997

Oh, hello my gorgeous little glitter balls! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to take you on another fabulous adventure!

You know how much I adore a good ol' fashioned train journey, don't you? It's just so quintessentially British! All that clicking and chugging and whizzing past fields and charming villages. Well, guess what, my darlings? I travelled all the way to Morley, nestled in West Yorkshire, by train! Imagine my delight when I found that Morley even had a ballet school! It's almost like it was made for a Pink Tutu Sparkles visit!

Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Morley? Is there even a shop open after 5pm?" But you know me, my dears, I find the magic in everything. My love, you should see Morley Market. It's full of fabulous stalls selling all sorts of quirky goodies, from handmade soaps and artisan crafts to local produce that's so fresh it's still whispering sweet nothings to the vegetables. I swear, you could almost smell the fresh herbs on the breeze, and my darlings, there were so many gorgeous pinks. Honestly, the universe just kept throwing those soft shades at me – it's like the market knew I was on my way! I came away with a gorgeous silk scarf in a blush-pink, the perfect finishing touch to any tutu outfit.

But back to the ballet! I had the most wonderful time at the Morley Ballet School. You know, there's something so inspiring about seeing young, up-and-coming ballerinas all aglow with the joy of movement. Their faces, lit by the soft light of the dance studio, and the music sweeping them up, oh it’s absolutely spellbinding! You see, dear reader, ballet is just pure artistry – the way it allows the body to become this expressive instrument is nothing short of magical.

Now, don't worry, I wasn't just gawking at the classes, no! I mean, of course, I popped in and gave them a quick demo! You wouldn't believe how much joy they took from it! All those happy little faces, their smiles bigger than their pink tutus, oh, it melted my heart! They were asking me about everything – how I got into drag, my favourite colour (naturally, it's pink!), and what they should wear if they ever wanted to perform on a stage in a fluffy tutu like mine. Now, they have all promised to do just that – which makes this Pink Tutu Sparkles very proud, indeed!

So, darling readers, Morley, darling Morley, you've truly stolen my heart. I'll be back soon! Until next time, wear pink, wear it loud, and don't forget, a little bit of sparkle makes everything brighter.

P.S. I know I've been mentioning tutus a lot. Don't think I'm going to leave you hanging. Today, my lovely little cherubs, I wore a vintage tulle tutu in a soft pastel pink, which I paired with a silver sequined corset, just the right amount of sparkle! I felt like a beautiful ballet-inspired fairy flitting through Morley, sharing a touch of magic and glitter wherever I went.

Right then, darling readers, gotta go! Another exciting day of fun, frolic, and fluffy tutus awaits. You can find all the glorious, sparkly details of this adventure, along with photos of course, on www.pink-tutu.com! And if you want to hear all about my journey in even more detail, join me for a virtual cuppa tomorrow, where I'll spill all the tea!

Till next time, darlings. xoxo Pink Tutu Sparkles!

Life as a Pink Tutu Sparkles

Before I sashay on my way, dear reader, let’s take a moment to reflect on this amazing life of a drag artist and the fabulousness it offers! You see, this ain't just about flashing sequins and feather boas. It's about finding joy in everything, in embracing every colour, every texture, and every form of self-expression!

When I was just a young Alex, growing up in the Derbyshire countryside, life seemed to be a sea of beige, but inside, a little spark of Pink Tutu Sparkles longed to break free. As you may or may not know, darling reader, by day I am a humble science nerd – I have a real love of fabric technology and testing the strength and beauty of all sorts of different fibres! My favourite bit of my day is choosing and testing different pinks. From a subtly delicate peach silk to an outrageous fuchsia polyester. And by night, darling readers, I don that fabulous tutu and bring some much-needed colour and light to the world! I make it my business to bring sunshine, laughter, and just a whole lotta glitter to wherever I go.

I used to be a little worried about being two different people – the scientist Alex, who blends fabrics in her laboratory and Pink Tutu Sparkles, who twirls and sparkles on stage, but my darlings, it's not about hiding, it’s about showing the world all the amazing facets that make me who I am!

But how do I fund this whirlwind of tutu-ed travel and joy? It all starts with me. Well, and with some brilliant pink outfits of course! From the smallest pub to the largest fairground, I perform for absolutely anyone and everyone! Each show is a chance to celebrate my love for everything glitzy, a chance to spread a message of kindness, of embracing our inner joy, of just wearing a fabulous pink tutu and letting loose!

It all started a few years ago, back at uni! Imagine a shy science student, drowning in equations and labs! I'd signed up for a ballet club for something different. My classmates all giggled when I tried on a dusty pink tutu for a charity fundraiser. I’d never even dreamed I would stand on stage, and even more, I'd never dreamed I could feel this…amazing! But after the lights came up and the applause started, there was no stopping the transformation into Pink Tutu Sparkles! The journey started with a pink tutu and the magic was unstoppable!

Remember, darling reader, that magic, that joy, it’s waiting to be discovered in each and every one of us. There is no need to be afraid of embracing those sparkling, bold, brilliant sides of yourself! Put on your favourite colours, go forth and spread the sparkle!

If you, dear reader, feel a spark of the Pink Tutu Sparkles inside you – the part of you who’s always dreamed of dressing up in something spectacular, or the part of you who craves a dash of glitter, then let those sparks fly! Be loud! Be yourself!
