Whitley Bay: A Tutu-tastic Adventure!

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-obsessed queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, here with another fabulous post! This is post number 3029 for you lovely lot, and guess what? We're going to Whitley Bay!

As you know, my life is a whirlwind of sequins, glitter, and the occasional splash of pink. But before I tell you about my absolutely dazzling adventures in Whitley Bay, let's have a little chat, shall we?

Now, I know you lovely people love to read about my travels. It’s all part of the grand plan, darling – to bring a bit of sparkly pink magic to the world, one tutu-tastic step at a time!

Let’s be honest, you're probably reading this while tucked into your fluffy pink dressing gown (if you don't own a pink dressing gown, darling, what are you waiting for?!) sipping on a cup of your favourite herbal tea (maybe with a sprinkle of pink shimmer? Just saying!) - because let's face it, every day deserves a bit of sparkle. And you know, deep down, that's what I aim to achieve!

I get so much inspiration for my travels from my dear, dear readers! The messages I get on the website are just wonderful - so many people telling me how much joy my little corner of the internet brings to their day! You've got to believe, darlings, that really does warm my heart!

Anyway, before I get too sappy, let’s talk about this glorious adventure! I headed off on a whistle-stop train journey from Derby this week (love the train – a far more civilised mode of transport than that blasted A38). The North Sea air whipped through my perfectly coiffed pink wig as we pulled into Whitley Bay Station. There was a nip in the air, but the sun was out and the seagulls were chirping merrily, creating a joyful symphony. Oh, to be so carefree, like the seagulls themselves! They never seemed to worry about anything – I bet they don’t have to spend hours worrying about whether their makeup is perfectly blended or not. But I digress…

Speaking of my makeup, let's discuss the ensemble, darling! As usual, it was an absolute show-stopper. A cascading pink tulle tutu (naturally), a custom-made sparkly pink sequined top with the most gloriously fluffy pink feather boas around the sleeves (courtesy of the amazing Sarah's Dress Emporium in Nottingham!), and a stunning pair of hot pink ballet shoes! I'm pretty sure a passing seagull tried to snatch the boas - such a glamorous little thing! I had a full pink face of makeup with my signature dazzling glitter brows, my eyelashes were so long you'd swear they were flamingo feathers and a hot pink lipstick that screamed, “I’m Pink Tutu Sparkles and I'm here to rock Whitley Bay!”

The air crackled with excitement as I entered the stunning ballroom in the local hotel. They'd pulled out all the stops for me – with pink and white streamers, a heart-shaped confetti balloon arch, and oh, those sweet, sweet pink cupcakes with delicate buttercream swirls! I couldn't wait to get started!

For my act, I chose my very best ballet moves – the delicate leaps and elegant spins with a touch of dazzling glitter! I just felt at home under the sparkling ballroom lights, wearing my gorgeous tutu. I’ve even started doing little pink tutu workshops in the afternoon. All those amazing kids learning ballet steps – it brings me such joy. My motto is: everyone can wear a tutu! Even the boys, darlings!

Whitley Bay, I'm absolutely smitten with you! This enchanting seaside town felt like a perfect place to indulge in my love of ballet and sparkles! After a spectacular performance, I was completely worn out, and so I decided to take it easy. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant – they even made me a pink-themed menu – just for me, darlings! It’s a pink paradise!

We went for a walk on the prom – such lovely Victorian lampposts. The wind was whipping up a bit of a storm – perfect time to snuggle down in a cute café and have a steaming hot chocolate. You’d never guess how many people come up to me, asking for a photo! The town of Whitley Bay truly is an oasis for a pink tutu wearing queen like me!

Now, onto the grand finale: as usual, I left a trail of glittery, pink magic wherever I went. You see, darlings, it's not just about performing - it’s about inspiring, spreading joy, and a little bit of sparkly madness. Who wouldn’t want that?

The locals of Whitley Bay were an absolute delight. Everyone was so warm and friendly – I think a couple even started following me on my daily strolls! Who knows, they might even get on board with the pink tutu movement! Fingers crossed.

And before you think I’ve lost my sparkle – let’s get one thing straight, my darling! My real name is Alex, and when I’m not on stage, I’m working as a textile scientist. No, I haven't taken leave of my senses! I do love to test fabrics – particularly how they behave under different stresses, or even just see how they fade after repeated washing! It's all about science!

However, the moment I get off the bus, I slip into my glamorous Pink Tutu Sparkles outfit. You could say, my lab and my dressing room both help to fulfil my own destiny to spread a bit of joy, a dash of colour, and a sprinkle of magic – in my own pink tutu-tastic way.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed my fabulous journey into the beautiful, bright, seaside haven that is Whitley Bay. Don’t forget to keep reading my blog, follow me on all social media platforms – my little world awaits!

Yours in Pink Tulle,
