Oh, darlings! I’m so thrilled to be back with you lovely lot, back with another fabulous post from your favourite pink tutu wearing, sparkle-loving, dance-enthusiast drag queen - yours truly, Pink Tutu Sparkles! I’m currently frolicking in Falkirk, Scotland, having just arrived by a most delightful train journey. The train ride was quite frankly, spectacular! Imagine a comfy carriage, plush velvet seats, and scenery flitting past my window – rolling hills and charming countryside views, all whilst I twirled my tulle and enjoyed a lovely cup of tea! It was so much fun, I nearly did a full cartwheel down the carriage.
This is post number 3033! Isn’t that simply phenomenal? Each and every day I strive to bring you the pinkest, most sparkling and inspiring drag stories, sprinkled with a generous amount of tutu-love and fabulousness. Life as a drag queen, I can tell you, is a journey, my darlings, an adventure, a whirlwind of glittering sequins and swirling tulle! Speaking of tutus, I have to tell you, I’ve been completely swept off my feet by the selection of fabulous frocks in Falkirk! You know how much I adore a good dancewear store – the twirly tulle, the vibrant colours, the sheer joy of being surrounded by everything pink and sparkly! I managed to pick up the most exquisite new tutu – a fiery orange creation with delicate layers of net. The saleswoman told me it's a "must-have" for all dance lovers, and she's right!
This trip isn't all about clothes though, darlings. It’s also about experiencing new places, meeting new faces, and sharing my love of pink tutus with the world! I’ll be performing later this evening in the local theater, a grand Victorian-era building with intricate architecture. Oh, the beauty! And guess what? I'm thinking of doing a ballet number for them – something with a little drama, a lot of flair, and a dash of pure tutu magic. I've been working on my pliés and arabesques, and my pointe work is getting really good too!
Remember how I told you I once was a scientist back in my “other life”, the one before I found the magical power of tutus? Well, it was during my university years, when I was just starting my career as a science researcher that I was introduced to the joy of a tutu! It was a fundraiser for a charity, and one of the ballet club girls convinced me to try on a pink tutu. Let me tell you, I was instantly hooked! And let’s just say it felt more than natural – almost magical! The experience transformed me. From that moment on, my scientific experiments and fabric testing just couldn't hold a candle to the transformative power of tulle. That night I knew my life would never be the same. I can't deny that I love the science, even the part of the work that involves carefully testing fabric - imagine if you had to figure out the strongest material for tutus?! But honestly, there's a sense of excitement in my soul that only a sparkly, pink, twirly tutu can provide! And with each show, every journey, I share my passion with anyone and everyone I can – encouraging everyone to embrace their inner Pink Tutu Sparkle!
Falkirk has been such a blast. It’s got a lively energy, a real welcoming vibe, and some of the most gorgeous scenery, perfect for a stroll in my tutu – especially along the canal. It reminds me of the Derbyshirei hills I grew up on. I miss those rolling green hills and lovely English weather – not so much the damp and chill of winter. Although there’s no shortage of shops in this part of the world – it would be so much fun to explore the antique shops, hunt down those beautiful china trinkets I love! Perhaps I’ll try that tomorrow, once my new shoes have been well broken in and my pink satin bags are packed.
