You know me, I love to explore, and my quest to get everyone wearing a pink tutu takes me to all corners of the UK. This week, I hopped on a train (it's just so much more stylish than flying, don't you think?), and found myself surrounded by the vibrant energy of this historic town.
A Day in Pink Tutu Paradise
Wigston Magna might not be the first place you think of for a pink tutu extravaganza, but trust me, this town has a hidden gem – the Wigston Magna Community Centre. It was my stage for the evening, and oh, it was absolutely bursting with life!
I knew I was in for a treat when I saw the sheer number of smiling faces eagerly awaiting my performance. From families to couples, children to pensioners, everyone was dressed up and ready to embrace the pink tutu magic!
Speaking of magic, my performance was simply spectacular! We're talking glitz, glamour, and of course, plenty of pink tutus. I donned a fluffy, pale pink creation that twirled like a ballerina's dream. The audience went wild! Their applause and laughter filled the room with a contagious joy that had my heart soaring.
More than just a performance
It's not all about the glitter and glamour, my dears. There's a real sense of community here in Wigston Magna, and it felt truly wonderful to be part of something so special. I loved the conversations with the locals, who were so welcoming and intrigued by my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles.
I even found a few potential recruits for the pink tutu cause! One sweet little girl was mesmerised by my tutu, and told me, with the most adorable enthusiasm, that she was going to wear a pink tutu to school tomorrow. You know I just love it when someone catches the tutu bug!

I always say, a drag queen's life is a series of fabulous adventures. Wigston Magna, for all its charm, offered a truly captivating historical adventure.
Imagine, dear reader, strolling through the ancient ruins of St. Wigstan's Priory! The air was thick with history, whispered tales of a Saxon Saint and his long-ago followers. It's truly a reminder of the centuries of rich life that this land has witnessed.
But Wigston Magna isn't just about the past, oh no! It's also home to an array of modern delights. I found a charming little cafe called The Little Bakehouse. My tea, oh my, was the most delicious blend, perfectly paired with a selection of mouth-watering homemade cakes. A true treat for a Tutu Queen!
Pink Tutu Sparkles, Scientist by Day, Drag Queen by Night
As you know, my darling darlings, my journey as Pink Tutu Sparkles is intertwined with another life – my life as Alex, the humble lab scientist. By day, I test fabric for quality, working with textiles, often even a pink tutu now and again, and by night, I embrace my inner pink goddess and wow the crowds!
Now, it might sound like an unlikely combination, science and sparkly pink tutus. But here's the thing – both worlds are about creation! I spend my days carefully analyzing the composition and durability of materials, and by night I bring a creative vision to life, weaving joy and beauty with my tutus. It's a balance I cherish.

There's always a bit of Derby, my beloved hometown, in everything I do, even my trips to other parts of the country. I just can't resist the charm of a good cuppa and a hearty Derbyshire oatcake, now and then! It's the little reminders of home that make every journey even more delightful.
