Helloooo darlings! It's your girl Pink Tutu Sparkles, back for another adventure! I'm so excited, because I'm finally on the road again, leaving my little Derbyshire cottage and heading off on a whirlwind trip to Dover. My friends, the chalky cliffs are calling, and so is a big ol' show at the Dover Harbour Festival! Isn't that divine? 💖
As I write this, the train is zipping along, with me feeling like I’m in one of those ballet movies where the dancers leap around inside a carriage (without spilling their tea, obviously!). Speaking of tea, have you ever seen so much lovely floral teacups at a train station?! Dover station was just delightful - I spotted a vintage teapot set with darling forget-me-nots and a cup with a teeny tiny ballerina on the side. I had to buy them! You know me - I just love the most charming things, especially when they involve ballerinas. It's my weakness! 😉
Speaking of weakness, it must be this beautiful sunshine that's made me reach for the pinkest of pink frocks. Oh, darling! I am all about that pastel pink life. It makes me feel like I could dance my way straight to the stage (which is actually exactly what I'm about to do!). Dover Harbour is set to be a blast! The energy is palpable - you can literally taste the sea air mixed with the excitement of the festival! I have a good feeling about this one, you know? I can see a sea of excited faces all eagerly awaiting the arrival of your favourite tutu-clad queen - moi! ✨
Before I get whisked off by my dear friend, the cab driver, to the performance venue, I wanted to tell you about my new discovery. Darling, you just have to know about the little shop I found nestled in the side streets of Dover! A real treasure trove of antique delights. Imagine, the most delightful vintage hats and boas (my heart went flutter at the sight of them!), all covered in feathers and sparkles. The shop owner, an absolute angel, said they had once belonged to a troupe of travelling performers! What a glorious bit of history, isn't it? And of course, I simply had to purchase a little something... wouldn't want to let the fabulous finds sit alone in that lovely shop, now would I? 😉
It's funny how even while I'm on the go, my little brain is already thinking ahead to future shows. It seems a bit early for autumn colours, but there's an incredible pumpkin patch near Dover. You know how I feel about colour - the more vibrant, the better! A whole patch of pumpkins in all those beautiful, autumnal colours just begs to be turned into the most glorious tutu outfit! I'm thinking pumpkin-shaped embellishments on the skirt, possibly with a splash of orange and black to add a touch of dramatic flare! It'll be a real "Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice" theme, and my mind is already bursting with costume ideas! 🤩
Oh, the life of a performer! The joys, the stresses, the absolutely unadulterated sheer pleasure of bringing a smile to a face. I simply love meeting my audiences and bringing them my special brand of flamboyant fun. My goal, as always, is to bring the joy of colour, sparkles and tulle to the world. Every time I step onto that stage, I dream that it will inspire just one more person to embrace their inner pink-tutu-loving selves. 😉
