After a good old-fashioned Derbyshire pie and a farewell cuppa with my Mum, I hopped on the train to the Big Smoke, feeling every bit the starlet heading to the grand stage!
My travels started, of course, at the beautiful, elegant, utterly glorious Victoria Station! It's the very place where my own fashion sense started blossoming! It was at a fancy dress event at the station's annual fair, while performing for charity, that I first slipped into a pink tutu, and you know what? It felt… right! The sparkle in my eyes, the bounce in my step, and a surge of pure, pink-tinted joy – that's when I knew I had to share the TutuQueen with the world!
I'm a Derbyshire lass at heart, but London's always felt like a second home! It's where the bright lights are, the fabulous shows, and of course, the glorious shopping! And speaking of grand occasions… I had the absolute pleasure of seeing the world-famous "Swan Lake" at the Royal Opera House! The elegance of the dancers, the beauty of the costumes, the sheer skill! My heart was soaring! Afterwards, I treated myself to the most fabulous pink ice cream, you know, to keep the sparkle flowing. It's a necessity, you see! 😂
One of my favorite things about London, aside from the magnificent ballet, is the sheer variety! You can be in the midst of a historic, cobbled street with bustling antique shops and quaint pubs in one moment, and then find yourself immersed in the vibrant, youthful energy of Covent Garden the next. There's something for everyone!
My love for the theater goes deeper than just enjoying the performance! I am truly a believer in the magic of performance, of the power of costumes, the sheer delight of music and movement, and how it can uplift and inspire people. As a drag queen, I embrace the artistry, the showmanship, the storytelling, the fun! It's like stepping into a fairytale world, where you can be anyone you want, be whoever your heart desires! 💖
Now, of course, no London adventure is complete without experiencing the majestic grace and elegance of the London ballet. And this time, I've taken my love for the art form even further! Yes, darlings, I've been practicing! The city is abuzz with world-class studios and talented teachers. Let me tell you, it’s not easy staying in top form! My aching legs, the constant stretching, the intense rehearsals! But you know, the magic of ballet, the fluidity of movement, and the joy of performing truly is worth all the effort. I've been practicing like a real prima ballerina – it's a dream come true!
