Edmonton: The Sparkle in the Prairie! (Blog Post #3167)

Hello my darlings!

It's Pink Tutu Sparkles here, back with another entry in your daily dose of fabulousness! Buckle up, my pretties, because we're taking a trip to Edmonton, the City of Champions... and where I just happened to be the Queen of Pink!

It's not every day a girl gets to travel to the Canadian prairies, but when the call of the stage and the promise of a really good corn dog combo came a-knocking, I knew it was time to dust off the sequined suitcase and grab my favourite pink tutu. (You know the one, the one with the little, shimmering unicorns!)

Now, let me tell you, reaching Edmonton was half the fun. You see, I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to travel - I'm all about those romantic journeys on trains and the occasional dash through the countryside on a spirited steed! So, off I went, armed with a book of Shakespeare, a picnic basket, and my lucky pink tiara.

I wasn't exactly going from London to Paris, mind you - the landscape outside my carriage window might not have boasted charming vineyards or grand chateaus, but the Canadian prairie had its own charm, like a canvas painted by nature in shades of amber and emerald. Even the sound of the wind whispering through the tall grass felt like an elegant symphony.

After what felt like a magical trip through time (but in reality, was probably only a few hours!), I found myself in the bustling centre of Edmonton, surrounded by friendly faces and the tantalising scent of maple syrup. The locals were so welcoming, eager to get a glimpse of Pink Tutu Sparkles.

That evening, my show was at a gorgeous theatre – all grand architecture and chandeliers, giving it an air of old Hollywood glamour. And let me tell you, darling, the crowd went wild! I can’t think of anything more gratifying than hearing the applause as you complete that final pirouette, bathed in the golden spotlights.

Speaking of pirouettes, I just had to sneak in a ballet class during my stay. My darling Alex (that's me off stage) always loved a bit of classical elegance, and that's really where my passion for tutus began - the sheer, ethereal beauty of it all. You know how it is - being a scientist in a lab by day and a flamboyant drag queen by night has its own special kind of magic!

After a week of enchanting audiences with my pink sparkle magic and exploring the captivating heart of Edmonton, I was sad to say goodbye. The journey back to Derbyshire was, of course, filled with reflections on the adventures I'd had. And you know, my dearest readers, as I sat on that train, a thought popped into my mind. What if I started a movement? What if everyone wore a pink tutu? Just imagine the world transformed, a kaleidoscope of pink! I mean, isn't a little pink a wonderful dose of happy and fabulousness in every day life?

So there you have it, my darlings - my adventures in Edmonton! Stay tuned, because I'm heading to the Great Lakes next. You can bet I'm already packing my sparkly mermaid tutu for those aquatic vibes.

As always, remember, you don’t need to be a drag queen to embrace your own sparkle! A pink tutu can bring a little extra sunshine into everyone's day, so embrace the joy of it!

Yours in glitz and twirls,

Pink Tutu Sparkles x
