Scunthorpe Sparkle! (Blog Post #3171)
Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, ready to share all the fabulousness of my trip to Scunthorpe! Honestly, I just had to visit this gem of a town, and you know me, my love for a good adventure knows no bounds. 😉
This time, I took a real old-fashioned journey – a train! Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore hopping in my car and hitting the open road, but something about travelling by train just gets my imagination going. It’s all about the anticipation, the sense of mystery, and the possibility of a surprise encounter! I’m telling you, a train journey is the perfect opportunity to spot some fabulously dressed individuals – a fashionista in her element!
So, off I went, clutching my little pink suitcase, packed to the brim with sequined wonder. Honestly, this trip needed a little extra glitz, you see! After all, a day in Scunthorpe is hardly complete without a dazzling Pink Tutu Sparkles look! And speaking of sequins… this outfit is pure heaven! Think softest pink tulle, cascading layers, a scattering of hand-sewn diamantes, and the perfect touch of a silver sequined bustier. The perfect way to make an entrance, don’t you think?
And make an entrance I did! My show was held at a local theater, and darling, this town really knows how to have fun! As soon as I strutted in, there were cheers and applause, and I swear, the crowd erupted as I twirled my tutu for a good old fashioned Pink Tutu Sparkles wave! Oh, you know me, always giving the people what they want! 😂
This show was particularly special for me. It wasn't just the incredible crowd and the warm welcome. I met the sweetest lady, Mary, after my performance. She had seen me on a local TV show about "Pink Tutu Adventures", a piece they did when I was visiting South Shields last month, She shared how she'd started doing ballet classes for the first time after seeing my performances and she brought me her knitting of a tutu - handmade! She's starting to spread the pink tutu magic too!
Now, before we get into the glorious details of my show, let’s chat about Scunthorpe! It’s the kind of place that's packed with surprises! For a gal who loves a good walk (or twirl!), I found the green spaces so refreshingly calming! Honestly, they reminded me of the gentle fields and rolling hills of my hometown back in Derbyshire. A touch of home always feels nice when I’m far from the familiar! And then there's the architecture, dear friends, such an eclectic mix! It's like a journey through history! I discovered this absolutely stunning art gallery tucked away in a quaint side street – and I must say, the sculptures really stole the show!
The other day I was talking to my grandma who’s visiting me here in Derbyshire and she was telling me that when she was little, Scunthorpe was just a small town known for steel manufacturing. The town has so much history and yet it still felt so modern.
Now back to the reason for the trip - a whole lotta sparkles! Let me tell you, the Scunthorpe crowd were the best! They were so up for having a good time, laughing at my jokes, singing along to my favourite songs, and even joining me in a bit of dancing – it was utter chaos! In the best way possible, of course! My shows are all about positivity and inclusion, spreading a bit of joy, and letting loose! You can’t deny the pure joy of twirling and dazzling! And after all, what’s life without a touch of pink magic? Pink tutus make everyone feel like a little bit of a princess!
One thing I did learn though was that you just can't find a pink tutu in Scunthorpe! Not even online! How bizarre. Even the costume shops I found said they've never sold one! This town needs some of that Pink Tutu Sparkles magic! So I’ve got a plan… My new Scunthorpe challenge: make a pink tutu so beautiful that it gets everyone to start wearing them, I’ll even have it custom made in local colours, it needs to be spectacularly flamboyant! What colour to pick? Any ideas darlings? Maybe some bright yellow and turquoise, colours that celebrate steel town heritage?
But speaking of celebrations, there’s something magical about bringing a community together with music and dance! I adore meeting my audience and sharing that sparkle and joy with each and every one of them. After all, that's the most wonderful part about my little corner of the world, being able to connect with other people. And trust me, everyone feels just a bit brighter, more glamorous, after seeing Pink Tutu Sparkles do her thing!
I can’t wait for my next trip. Where should I go next, darlings? Where’s your dream location for Pink Tutu Sparkles to spread her magic? Leave your comments below! Let’s make the world a little more sparkly and a little more pink, one tutu at a time!
Love,
Pink Tutu Sparkles
