Walton upon Thames: Tutu Twirls and Train Journeys! ✨

Helloooo darlings! Pink Tutu Sparkles here, bringing you the latest from my pink and sparkly world. This is blog post number 3191 – yes, I really do write this much! And just like my beloved tutus, I keep twirling, swirling, and shimmering all the way!

This week has been a whirlwind of glitter and excitement, kicking off with a trip to the gorgeous town of Walton upon Thames! I love the charm of these little British towns, with their cobblestone streets, quirky little shops, and those classic, charming pubs with the flower baskets spilling out over the doors.

You know I always like to say, darling, it’s not what you do, but how you do it! That’s why, instead of just jumping on the train, I had to dress the part. My Pink Tutu Express ensemble was a dream come true: A magnificent magenta tutu adorned with glittering stars, my trademark pink feather boa (that’s for those brisk train winds!), and a stunning, oversized pink hat complete with a delicate feather boa of its own! It’s all about the details, darling!

Arriving at Walton upon Thames felt like stepping into a postcard. I’d heard such lovely things about the area and I was ready to sprinkle my pink tutu magic everywhere! First, I sashayed into The World of Chocolate (because you know, sugar and spice and all things nice are my favourite), where I picked out some delightful handmade truffles – the perfect treat for a diva on the go. And they had a delicious selection of tea, too! My tea cup even had pink flowers on it, which made my little heart sing.

After all that chocolate goodness, I just had to go shopping, darling! Now, Walton upon Thames has some absolute gems – little boutiques and vintage shops tucked away on charming streets, each filled with beautiful treasures. I couldn’t resist a sparkly top, perfect for my next stage performance, and I snagged a pair of whimsical butterfly earrings, perfect for adding that extra touch of magic. I was so tempted by a stunning vintage pink dress, but sadly I was a bit limited on luggage space. (Tutudressing for the train isn’t always the most practical!)

One of the absolute highlights of my trip was the stunning Walton on Thames Theatre. Honestly, the architecture is just breathtaking, like something out of a fairy tale! It felt a little magical standing there, imagining all the stories that have unfolded within those walls. It also inspired me, and now I'm considering doing a Sleeping Beauty inspired ballet show… watch this space!

Of course, I couldn’t visit Walton upon Thames without experiencing its fabulous history. Did you know it has its very own museum – The Hersham Museum, showcasing all the interesting stories of this incredible town? I discovered so much about its fascinating past, like the fact that it was once a favourite spot for royalty, and also about the ancient Roman Road that used to pass through this very area! I even got to hold a replica of a Roman coin – the history of this place just breathes!

And while I was in the mood for culture, a beautiful, grand estate was just begging to be explored, Hampton Court Palace. Just an hour train ride from Walton, and well worth it! That palace is just bursting with opulent history, exquisite art and just an endless amount of breathtaking scenery – It's so majestic that it even inspired me to try and take up ballet again!

My day was completed perfectly by watching a ballet show at The Rose Theatre, Kingston. There was such passion in their performance, and you could tell they all had poured their hearts into it. My tutu-clad heart was soaring. Honestly, it had me in awe!

But even with all this incredible entertainment and sightseeing, it wouldn't be a Pink Tutu Sparkles blog post without some extra, special flair. So, naturally, I threw a delightful little pink-tutu themed tea party at my favourite Walton upon Thames pub, The Angel! Everyone came decked out in their finest pink – and there were tutus aplenty, even some of the guys joined in the fun! You've never seen a pub so full of giggles and glee. I think I even saw a fellow tutu-lover in the crowd wearing a sparkly crown – you go girl!

As always, it was a blast making new friends, twirling, and spreading a bit of sparkle wherever I went! I even convinced a group of them to join me on a scenic train journey back to Derbyshire! The beauty of those rolling green fields – and those darling cows! It truly is the most relaxing way to travel.

As I’m writing this, I’m already starting to dream up my next big tutu adventure. Stay tuned darlings! Because I promise, wherever Pink Tutu Sparkles goes, the magic and the glitter will follow!

XOXO
