Paignton, My Darling! 🩰💖

Hello my lovely pink tutu lovers! It’s your gal, Pink Tutu Sparkles, signing in for Post #3196!

Ooh, how fabulous is it to be back with a brand new blog post from the fabulous pink tutu-wearing me! This time, we’re heading down to sunny Paignton, a gorgeous little seaside town in Devon! The sea air is absolutely divine and I’m absolutely thrilled to be spending a few days here before I head back to the lab to…well, test fabric! 🙈 It’s my day job, darling! By day I’m just Alex, a humble lab rat – wink – but by night, well, I'm a tutu-clad whirlwind of glitter and glamour, ready to entertain you all.

This whole journey down to Paignton has been a dream. I started with a truly luxurious train ride – all velvet seats and comfy footrests! Honestly, it’s like travelling back in time to a more refined era. Of course, my little pink tutu-loving self had to be the ultimate vision in a bubblegum pink dress and feather boa. The other passengers definitely did a double take – you can’t go unnoticed in a pink tutu! 💖✨

Speaking of pink tutus! My darling, I simply must tell you all about this fantastic new fabric I got for my latest custom-made tutu. It’s this dreamy iridescent fabric that shifts from a shimmering silver to a shimmering pink depending on the light. I couldn’t resist adding a cascade of shimmering pink sequins. Just picture it, dearie! It’s going to be an absolute show-stopper when I’m performing!

Now, what else have I been up to? Well, since I’ve arrived in Paignton, it's been all about those iconic Paignton sea views! There's something incredibly calming and breathtaking about standing on that sandy shore, looking out over the vast expanse of the ocean, knowing that you’re experiencing the beauty of the coast. I absolutely love that feeling – the salt air, the gentle sea breeze, and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore… bliss!

You see, Paignton just has this sweet charm that makes it feel special. They've got a little pier, a harbour packed with charming little boats, and a promenade where you can take a stroll in the evening and watch the world go by! You can see why it's been so popular for families and seaside lovers for years.

Oh, speaking of those families… I had the absolute pleasure of performing for a little street fair yesterday! I was spinning like a top in my beautiful, bespoke tutu, the whole crowd was roaring with laughter. And there I was, front and centre, feeling absolutely incredible. What makes these events so special is when a little girl, maybe five or six years old, comes rushing over after the performance with her eyes wide and bright, just absolutely mesmerised. That, my darling, that’s why I do what I do!

You see, I really do think that there’s a little pink tutu princess inside each and every one of us! And I’m determined to unleash those sparkly, beautiful selves with a pink tutu and a bit of glitter.

After the fair, I even treated myself to a scrumptious meal of fish and chips on the seafront. I mean, who could resist? They're definitely a Paignton essential! The crispy batter, the succulent fish, and the lovely creamy mushy peas… yum!

The beauty of my job is that I meet so many amazing people who inspire me! Yesterday, I was having lunch and talking with this adorable, retired lady named Muriel. Muriel has lived in Paignton all her life and knows the area better than anyone. She told me all about the beautiful coastline, its history, and her experiences growing up in this gorgeous little seaside town. It was truly heartwarming to hear her stories and get a sense of Paignton through her eyes. It’s people like Muriel that make my life as a drag queen so vibrant and enriching!

And did I mention the gorgeous vintage clothes shops? This place is like a pink tutu heaven! Just the other day, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a shop, a veritable treasure trove of antique lace, frills and…oh, how could I forget the ribbons! Honestly, I bought enough vintage lace to make myself at least ten more new pink tutus.

One of the joys of travelling, especially to somewhere as beautiful as Paignton, is that there are so many opportunities to explore! There’s always a hidden gem waiting to be discovered, whether it’s a tiny cafe with the most delicious cakes or an independent store overflowing with unique treasures.

Now, darling, I need to tell you all about my new obsession: the Paignton Zoo! Imagine it: penguins, lions, giraffes, gorillas, all right there, ready for you to come and say hello! It was like a beautiful fantasyland – all those vibrant colors and wonderful sounds!

Even though I don't live for the glitter and the fame, I do think it's essential to support the amazing arts community, so I even got tickets for a little theatre performance last night. I can't give you all the details – I’m sworn to secrecy until the grand opening – but I can tell you it was absolutely delightful! There’s nothing better than watching the talent blossom on stage, it's truly inspirational! I may not be performing tonight, but just watching others embrace the stage is so captivating, isn't it?

Well, darlings, I must be off! There’s so much more to discover in this little seaside town, and I’ve got a list a mile long of places to visit and people to meet. But remember, I’ll be back, you can bet your bottom pink tutu on it! And in the meantime, keep an eye out for my latest posts at www.pink-tutu.com - you don’t want to miss any of the sparkles and the glamour.

Don’t forget to join the pink tutu movement, ladies and gents, because everyone can be a Pink Tutu Princess!

Keep spreading the love and the sparkle!

Love,

Pink Tutu Sparkles
