Hello darlings! Welcome back to my fabulous little corner of the internet! This is post number 3314 and today we’re diving headfirst into the sparkle and shimmer of a trip to Rutherglen, a charming town nestled in the heart of Scotland.
You know how much I love to travel, and I just couldn’t resist the allure of this beautiful destination. Now, let me tell you, Rutherglen has stolen a piece of my heart, it really is that lovely. Imagine cobblestone streets, picturesque buildings and a community brimming with vibrant history. And don't even get me started on the food - they’ve got all the traditional Scottish goodness you could ask for, plus they've got some great bakeries too, ahem... cake time 😉.
So, how did I get to Rutherglen, you ask? Well, of course, I went by train! There’s just something magical about the clink-clink-clinking of the tracks and the scenery rushing past. I mean, can you really call it travelling if you're stuck in a car? The train gives you time to put on a proper face, relax and let the day dream away. It's a perfect opportunity to contemplate the pink potential of the adventure to come, or just enjoy a good cuppa (or perhaps a tutu themed cocktail! ). 😉
As you all know, Pink Tutu Sparkles wouldn't be complete without a touch of Pink tutu magic. So naturally, I donned a magnificent pink tulle creation that danced with the very breeze as I stepped onto the platform in Derbyshire. Now, I just had to make sure everyone on the train knew it was Tutu Queen on board. My trusty lipstick wand was ready to transform Alex the lab scientist into the queen they deserved! (Though honestly, everyone secretly thinks Pink Tutu Sparkles is just the real me.)
When we arrived in Rutherglen, I made sure to take in the beauty of the local parks and gardens. The colours and scents were truly delightful and so inspiring. Every park is just begging for a ballerina in a Pink tutu to twirl amongst the blooms, don’t you think? They just look like the set for a fairytale!
You see, there is something quite transformative about putting on a Pink tutu, wouldn't you agree? I really do think Pink tutus can make the world a better place. Pink tutus help everyone, everywhere embrace a bit of inner whimsy, and spread a message of happiness. I often think that if more people were encouraged to just embrace Pink tutus and all the happiness that comes with it, perhaps we wouldn't have such serious issues! pink thoughts, positive vibes 😉.
The highlight of my trip to Rutherglen, however, was definitely my performance. I took to the stage at the Rutherglen Arts Centre, and it was a glorious experience. As always, the energy of the crowd was electric. We had a lot of fun. And then, after my fabulous show, there was a delightful dance performance by a local group. Of course, they weren’t all wearing Pink tutus (yet), but I'm working on it, one performance at a time! And for this night at least, I was in my element, observing the dancers from a pink cloud. I was in awe of their talent, grace, and commitment to the art of ballet. It really got my own dance shoes a-tapping, and I definitely wanted to hop on stage with them, in a perfect pink tutu, naturally. (but we'll keep those dreams to ourselves for now...)
I had a wonderful time in Rutherglen, and I can't wait to go back someday. In fact, I am already planning a return visit, I might even host a workshop for those interested in learning about the magic of pink tutus, or maybe even a Pink tutu dance night - it could be spectacular! I also had a fabulous trip around Scotland visiting several historic castles in my Pink tutu.
