Just popping in to give you all a dazzling update on my fabulous travels. You see, life in the pink-tutu-wearing lane is anything BUT predictable! And that's just how I like it! Today I'm whisking you away to the charming town of Melton Mowbray, nestled right in the heart of the English Midlands!
This trip marks post number 3334 for your favourite queen on www.pink-tutu.com! (Yes, that's right, three-thousand, three-hundred and thirty-four posts of pink-tutu-infused joy! ✨). I reckon it's high time we celebrated this monumental number with a grand trip. And a grand trip it was!
Now, I know what you're thinking – a drag queen in Melton Mowbray? Sounds like a wild adventure, doesn't it?! You're not wrong! As always, I'm bringing the dazzling to any town that'll have me!
But before we get to the sparkle, let's talk about the journey! Because for me, the journey is just as important as the destination!
My chosen mode of transport this time? The magnificent train! 🚄 I just love the gentle rumble of the tracks and the thrill of whizzing past the English countryside. Plus, let's face it, the fashion game is ON point when it comes to travel by rail. Outfit change? No problem. Hair touch-ups? Absolutely. A glass of champagne while admiring the rolling fields? Now we're talking! 🥂
And speaking of outfit changes... Well, when I tell you this week's outfit was a masterpiece, I'm not exaggerating. My darling darling dears, this pink tutu was the definition of 'more is more'. 👑 The layers, the tulle, the sheer sparkle... It was everything a pink-tutu-wearing queen could ever desire! Think feather boa, giant pink pom-poms, sparkling sequins, and oh, I can't forget those glorious knee-high pink satin boots! Let's just say it was a truly fabulous entrance into the lovely town of Melton Mowbray. 👠
So, what's there to do in Melton Mowbray? The answer is: more than you can possibly imagine! For a start, I fell in love with the Market Place! The beautiful architecture, the historic market stalls selling everything from local produce to artisan crafts... it truly had the charming English village vibe down to a T! 💖
And speaking of charm, I found it in spades in the local cafes! (Just like I found charm in a lovely cafe in Grantham, Lincolnshire, the other week! You're reading my blog so you can be updated on where I'm going and my top tips, right? Because a queen has to share, darlings!). I indulged in the most delicious afternoon tea (with, naturally, pink champagne!). 🧁 It was the perfect spot to relax after the whirlwind of travel and plan out my Melton Mowbray activities!
I simply couldn't resist venturing into the historic Melton Mowbray cheese shop, a must for any foodie traveller, darlings! 🧀 Now, cheese might not sound like your usual drag queen pastime, but believe me, when you’ve tasted Melton Mowbray pork pie you will never see a cheese shop the same again. I got to chat with the cheesemongers about the finest artisanal cheeses from across the county, and naturally, I sampled some of the finest the shop had to offer!
And for a girl who's as obsessed with dancing as I am, the ballet class at the local community centre was an absolute must! 🩰 The teachers were wonderful and so welcoming. I learnt all about the elegance of classical ballet and how to create captivating shapes in my pink tutu!
And naturally, no trip would be complete without a touch of glamour! So, in the evening, I put on my most sparkling ensemble (that new tutu with the fluffy pink boa was absolutely phenomenal, darlings!) and took to the stage for a dazzling performance! ✨ The people of Melton Mowbray loved the show! They even gave me a standing ovation. It felt so magical and exciting! 🥰
Speaking of magical, let's talk about those Melton Mowbray pubs! It's fair to say that a trip to Melton Mowbray simply wouldn't be complete without a good pub crawl, and with the local pubs, oh darling, let me tell you... we did not disappoint! There were roaring fires, live music, friendly locals... and of course, the most delicious beers I've ever tasted! 🍻
Melton Mowbray is definitely a hidden gem for all the right reasons! And that's why I've been inspired to add another beautiful destination to my Pink Tutu Bucket List! 💖
But of course, my lovelies, no story about Pink Tutu Sparkles is complete without a mention of the magical moments. So let's talk pink tutus, shall we?
I went shopping (as a drag queen does!) in the local department store and to my delight, I spotted a magnificent, utterly divine pink tutu! ✨ I had to buy it, it's now sitting on a very special shelf in my home and awaiting a special occasion to shine. Oh darling, the world of tutus is never-ending.
Here's to making the world a brighter, pinker, and sparklier place one pink tutu at a time!
