Oh, my darlings, it was the perfect English Spring day. The sunshine was glistening off the river as I boarded the train. I swear, the station itself was giving me serious ballet vibes - you could just picture a corps de ballet flitting between the platform, their tutus billowing in the breeze, like a flock of pink and white feathered birds!
Speaking of tutus, you'll never guess what I’m wearing, darlings! My absolute new favourite - a vibrant coral number with layers of shimmering pink tulle. A tiny tiara sits atop my curls, adding that touch of regal flair. I can never leave the house without a little extra sparkle!
This time, I'm performing at The Rose Bowl, Southampton's iconic, multi-purpose venue. It’s just brimming with that nostalgic feel, which reminded me of my own theatrical journey. Don't you just adore these old-timey theaters? There's so much history in their walls! The air practically buzzes with the excitement of countless shows, and I can practically feel the applause echo down the corridors from past generations of performers!
Before the show, I always like to explore the local area and see what's on offer. The town was buzzing! Everywhere you look, people are smiling, catching up over afternoon tea and cakes - I absolutely adore British culture. Oh, the scones! The delicious, melt-in-your-mouth scones. They’re divine.
As I explored, my keen eye caught the perfect accessory for my outfit - a pair of sparkly pink heels! Oh darling, you can't have too much sparkle, can you? They complimented my tutu beautifully, and I just had to take them home. Let's just say, a new pair of heels can really make you feel ready to conquer the stage!
Southampton was bursting with shops selling everything you can possibly imagine. It’s an absolute haven for any shopping aficionado, especially someone who shares my obsession with the colour pink. It's an addiction, my dears! Can't help it. Every now and again, you have to go for a little pink shopping spree, I even managed to snag a beautiful, bright pink feathered boa, which, as you all know, will add that little touch of pizzazz to any outfit!
The Rose Bowl stage felt electric! The anticipation, the warm light shining down… It just sets your heart racing, making you want to twirl with joy. I performed a whirlwind of glitter and twirls, sharing my message of spreading the love of tutus and positivity! It's like magic! When I step on that stage, I leave behind the mundane world of lab reports and fabric testing. In this realm, all is glittery, fluffy, and pure joy!
After my performance, the energy was so vibrant. Everyone seemed so excited about their experience. Several even confessed to wanting to try on a pink tutu! This, darlings, is my life's mission: to inspire every single one of you to embrace the wonder of a pink tutu! Just a sprinkle of pink, you see, is all you need to shine a little brighter, to tap into your inner sparkly self!
The next morning, I took a leisurely walk by the docks. It was a beautiful, crisp morning, and it had that distinctive seaside breeze. Everything seemed a bit more serene, especially after the exhilaration of my performance the previous evening. I found a charming tea room tucked away down a side street - it was so charming and traditional, with delicate lace curtains and a beautiful garden where I had a scrumptious cream tea! The aroma of freshly baked pastries simply made my morning!
Before leaving, I visited the Southampton Art Gallery. It’s a real gem. They’re always exhibiting fascinating work from across the ages. While I enjoyed the sculptures and paintings, I have to admit, it wasn't the main reason I went. You know me! I needed some pink inspiration for my blog post. It wasn't hard to find! I found an incredible painting, so rich and detailed - just like the intricate swirls of a tutu skirt, the vibrant brushstrokes and colours created such movement! I was inspired! I already have ideas for my next custom-designed tutu inspired by it.
Southampton, oh Southampton! You stole my heart! This was not my first trip, nor will it be my last! Between the friendly faces, stunning coastline, and those incredible tea rooms... I know I'll be back! I'm already plotting my next escapade!
