Tutu Takeover in Essex: My Journey to Rayleigh
This week's journey started in Derbyshire, where I’ve been busy with my day job, testing fabric for some exciting new projects. (That’s right, the science brain behind Pink Tutu Sparkle is a whizz with fabrics!) After a hard day at the lab, I transform myself into the ultimate pink tutu princess and packed my suitcase with a rainbow of sparkly tulle!
Traveling in Style:
I simply adore traveling by train! Imagine the scene: me in a glorious pink dress and matching feather boa, waltzing down the platform in my sparkly, fluffy pink tutu. This definitely makes a statement, it's the perfect excuse to let your inner child run wild and brings a smile to every face I meet. (Oh, I can't leave out my Pink Tutu Sparkle signature travel hat! An extraordinary confection of pink feathers, diamante, and enough sparkle to outshine the moon.)
Reaching the Essex Shores
Once we arrived in Rayleigh, I could feel the excitement tingling! There’s something so magical about small towns; they have a unique character and hidden gems just waiting to be discovered. I grabbed a delicious cuppa and a slice of cake at the local café before embarking on my grand entrance.
Taking to the Stage:
This evening, I’ll be performing at the local theater – "Rayleigh Players" They're staging a brilliant production of 'The Wizard of Oz,' and I'm excited to be sharing my sparkle with their fabulous audience. They say every girl wants to be a princess, and I plan to channel all the joy of that magical feeling in my set. You know I've been planning my dazzling outfit with my signature flair for several weeks – imagine shimmering tulle in vibrant shades of ruby, emerald and amethyst with touches of gold and silver

Of course, it's never just about the performance; it's about spreading my Pink Tutu Gospel and creating those unforgettable moments! I always have time for photos with fans – everyone from little princesses with their sparkly shoes to older ladies wanting to feel a bit more playful. The pink tutu really does bring people together. I often get questions like: "Can anyone wear a pink tutu?” " How do I get into drag?" and “I just started ballet class and have never felt as happy, can I wear my tutu everywhere?". Of course, a trip to Rayleigh wouldn't be complete without a little window shopping. (I just couldn't leave without adding to my already impressive collection of fabulous pink feather boas! )
I spotted the most beautiful bouquet of vibrant pink roses! A gorgeous display at the florist. I’ll be sending those to my lovely mum – I simply can’t be too far away from a little pink-tinted goodness, right?
