Bath: A Fairytale of Pink and Pointe Shoes! 🩰✨

Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink tutu-clad queen, Pink Tutu Sparkles, and today I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventure with you!

This is post number 3412 on www.pink-tutu.com, and it's dedicated to my glorious trip to Bath! Oh, the history, the charm, and the fabulous shops - what a delight.

You see, my dear followers, I'm a creature of habit. I adore travelling by train - it's a grand opportunity to don my latest outfit (it was a magnificent blush pink tweed dress with a matching hat, mind you!), soak up the scenery, and maybe catch up on a little "Pride and Prejudice." And of course, there's always a bit of delightful people-watching!

Now, Bath is a place that feels like it's been lifted from a storybook. Everything is so elegant - the architecture, the parks, the cobbled streets... it truly is a fairy tale setting!

I landed myself a charming little bed and breakfast on Pulteney Bridge, the only one in the world with shops along it! Honestly, it was like stepping straight into a picture postcard. The owners, Mr and Mrs Pufflebottom, were absolutely divine. They served the best full English breakfast - I even indulged in some pink grapefruit and black tea, because when in Bath... (I'm sure they noticed I snuck a sprinkle of pink glitter into my coffee, oh well, that's my style!).

As for the reason I chose Bath - the main attraction was none other than the Royal Ballet's performance of Swan Lake! A magnificent ballet in a magnificent setting, it truly was a spectacle to behold! Those graceful swans and those powerful black swans (the prince is always so conflicted, don't you think?), the magnificent costumes and the incredible choreography… just a little bit of magic!

You know, I started dancing ballet as a wee tot - just a Derbyshire lass with big dreams. (If you've never been to Derbyshire, darling, do give it a whirl - stunning rolling hills, you wouldn't believe it!) And when I got to university in Bristol (we do have quite the love for ballet in this neck of the woods!), that's where it all happened, darling! The tutu revelation, if you will. The university was holding a charity event, and a mischievous friend insisted I try on a tutu for a laugh! The rest, as they say, is history.

As a budding scientist studying textiles (by day, you know! I mean, science is a demanding mistress) I had always been fascinated by the fabric itself. The way it moves, how it transforms the body. The sheer artistry of it all! I began my own little experiment, crafting tutus with recycled materials - transforming old lace into magnificent tulle masterpieces!

Now, this might surprise you, darling, but my family didn't entirely understand my pink tutu phase. Oh, you know how families can be! I mean, I always try to keep my dear old mum up-to-date on my blog - even if I do edit out the bit where I'm describing the glitter I used for my eye shadow, oh honey, it's pinkest sparkle! You can't just not share, darlings!

They were fine with my ballet, no objections at all to that, but when it came to the tutus…well, I just know that when I finally take home a trophy for a Tutu Design Award they’ll be right beside me in the audience. That, or they'll just shake their heads and say "you’ve always been a bit… theatrical!" They’re my sweet family though, they do understand at least that being Pink Tutu Sparkles brings joy into the world - who knows, maybe they'll even start wearing pink tutus someday! (fingers crossed! wink wink )

Right then, darlings, before we get too caught up in reminiscing about my past, let me tell you about my fab day out in Bath! We all need a good dose of fairytale-land, wouldn't you agree? So, with my lovely pink tulle bag slung over my shoulder, (my trusty friend who always holds my phone, mirror, lip gloss, and emergency sequins) I was off on my grand exploration!

The first thing that greeted me were the Bath Assembly Rooms, the former centre of fashionable society! They’ve got a whole host of dances throughout the year - you better believe Pink Tutu Sparkles is planning a trip back! And the Bath Spa - darling! A truly luxurious treat with its historical waters! And don't get me started on the shopping!

It was a magical trip, you see, my dearest. Even with the chilly weather (we do have an unpredictable spring here in the UK, darlings!) nothing could dampen my spirits, I just embraced the chill and made the most of it - by the way, the pink puffer jacket I'm wearing - perfect for chilly weather but still chic with a little sparkle!

Of course, the highlight of the trip was none other than the Bath Christmas Market! Okay, okay, you know I was there for the festivities! My heart beats a little faster whenever there are festive lights and cute little shops filled with hand-crafted gifts! Honestly, it was like stepping into a scene from 'Miracle on 34th Street!' Imagine: festive music, gingerbread treats (I had two… don't judge! They were scrumptious!), beautiful crafts… and pink! Everywhere! Honestly, there were even pink fairy lights, it was just perfection!

Now, I may be a little bit obsessed with pink tutus, but there's something special about those fluffy tutus when they’re covered with twinkling fairy lights, isn't there? It brings the Christmas spirit right to your doorstep! Even the vendors seemed delighted with the idea - several agreed that they needed some extra pink for the festive season. You better believe those tutus will be getting an encore performance in Derbyshire this winter!

Before I head back to the lab, my dearest followers, I wanted to share a piece of my heart with you: when I’m in Bath, the energy of creativity just crackles in the air, and I just feel so alive. It makes me want to don my pinkest, most fabulous tutu and spread joy, sunshine, and glitter everywhere!

If you're reading this, darlings, I want to encourage you to embrace that pink tutu spirit inside of you. The world is your stage, darling, so wear your heart on your sleeve, dance to your own rhythm, and never stop dreaming in pink. Until next time, keep shining bright! ✨

And as always, darlings, don't forget to keep checking back for more exciting adventures, because the world of Pink Tutu Sparkles is just getting started! And oh, dear friends, be sure to catch my performances as I travel the country (just as soon as my travelling carriage arrives!) It's time to make a grand entrance! Tutu fabulous!
