Kettering, My Darlings!

Hello, dears! It's your favourite Pink Tutu Sparkles, coming to you live from the most charming town you've ever seen! Yes, Kettering! I've had such a wonderful time exploring the lovely shops, the beautiful streets and of course, seeing the fab performance by the Kettering Ballet Theatre. This is post number 3479 on my little blog www.pink-tutu.com and you're all just fabulous for stopping by!

Remember how I was telling you about my new mission to inspire all of you to embrace the fabulous pink tutu? Well, I'm going from strength to strength. Yesterday, as I was stepping off the train and getting my bearings in Kettering, I spotted a little boy. He was staring intently at the gorgeous shop window display of this little haberdashery with all its sparkling trinkets. His face lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw me. In a bright pink, glittery tutu and matching top hat! His mum was laughing and saying "Goodness me! How amazing, thank you!" The sheer joy on the boy's face! Honestly, it warmed my heart. Seeing that child's face light up with pure delight over my outfit? It solidified for me that I'm on the right track! And who knows? Perhaps little Jamie's wearing his own pink tutu by now, wouldn't that be lovely?

So anyway, after I had my first delightful little encounter with a budding Tutu enthusiast, I went shopping! A lovely vintage shop, filled to the brim with amazing things and of course I treated myself to a couple of truly magnificent pieces - I mean, when will I ever have the chance to visit Kettering again?! But I have a rule: if it doesn't sparkle, I don't buy it. Luckily, this little shop seemed to have a magical sparkly dust sprinkled all over its wares! Now I'm back at my lovely hotel, relaxing with a lovely cuppa - my hotel, The Pink Elephant, what a fabulous choice - it’s the perfect place for a fabulous Tutu Queen!

I mean, where else would I choose? After all, travelling isn't just about the journey, darlings! It's about the moments! Those precious seconds when the world stops, you feel a connection, and everything just falls into place! That's what this blog is all about. Those beautiful moments that are woven into the tapestry of our lives. So, let's get to it!

Here is my top five fabulous things I found while visiting the beautiful Kettering:

Number One: I simply had to pop in to the Kettering Arts Centre, a real gem of a building that wouldn’t look out of place in Kensington! This is what I love about travelling, stumbling upon hidden pockets of delight. This charming building was filled with art and culture, and I fell in love with their gorgeous collection of porcelain figurines. They reminded me of my Nan - I have to get her a few of them as a gift!

Number Two: I went for a fabulous jaunt through Kettering’s Country Park, it was stunning! I love taking a moment to just enjoy nature and I saw the most incredible wild orchids, pink, of course! My inner plant enthusiast was just beside herself, they were absolutely breathtaking. Of course I whipped out my phone for a quick selfie with those gorgeous orchids - wouldn’t want to leave a moment without a beautiful photo memory for you lovely people!

Number Three: After my lovely walk through the country park, I made my way to Kettering's Town Centre, it's truly full of life. So much energy. One minute I was gawking at the beautiful antique shops on a picturesque little street, and then the next I was feeling that lovely sense of community - it truly is a vibrant place. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Pink Tutu Sparkles adventure without a pit stop for a gorgeous treat and some afternoon tea, complete with my little finger in the air and all!

Number Four: I know this might sound a bit quirky for a tutu-loving, fabulous lady like myself, but I was just charmed by the lovely people in the Kettering Science Centre. And you know what? This place blew my mind, in the best way possible! It’s fascinating how science can be so creative and they even had a whole section dedicated to space and the universe! Of course I had to pose in front of a scale model of the Space Shuttle with my little tutu flowing behind me!

Number Five: Oh, how could I forget, I actually stumbled into the most fabulous performance ever at Kettering’s beautiful Ballet Theatre. And yes, they are wearing tutus! A true, authentic pink tutu moment. The theatre’s little pink ballet tutus were the most lovely little tutu dream - so beautifully delicate. It was almost enough to make me put my own sparkly number away - almost!

What a delight it was to get back to my hotel - and let me tell you, they did me right with a special pink bubble bath, complete with the most decadent bath oils! As I relaxed in that wonderful, frothy, pink dream of a bath, I decided to start planning my next trip. Where shall I go next? Oh, this really is the hard part. It’s quite the difficult job being Pink Tutu Sparkles, wouldn't you say? But, my dears, it is the very best job in the world. I've said it before, but it truly is an honour to travel, to spread sparkle and bring joy wherever I go. To wear my tutu with pride, and to encourage everyone else to join me in our wonderful, pink wonderland!

Now I'll just have to go through my to-do list, figure out how I can travel to somewhere fabulous next, maybe Wales? I have an urge to see that dramatic, mountainous landscape - maybe travel by train? So much for planning! And my lovelies, you must do me a favour and check back for tomorrow’s blog – I will be sharing my experience at The Kettering Ballet Theatre and some amazing behind the scenes photos with you. It'll be fab-u-lous. And you must, you absolutely must check out their beautiful production and find your own little pink tutu joy!

So, remember darlings, if you’re in a rut or feel a little down, put on a pink tutu, put on a smile, and watch how instantly fabulous you become! That’s my message. Pink tutus are a sign of a life well lived!

Keep on shining,

Your Pink Tutu Sparkles (Alex)
